I just bought the game, and was wondering how the druid is doing in the game right now? is it fun? how is the damage and survivability?
what are some good builds to run?

Druid is slower to ramp up but is definitely one of the strongest classes, but you should usually look up a build for them because druid is the most item dependant class and they need some specific stuff.
It’s crap unless you were lucky enough to get an extremely rare Tempest Roar. Druid loot tables are currently bugged too and Blizzard has the fix on the back burner.

leveling is ok with a few skills, endgame earth/werebear is good if you get the legendary aspects, werewolf/tornado or wolf storm sucks if you dont get an unique helmet with a low drop chance
It’s fun for me because I like roleplaying druids and having lots of different options that remind me of d&d and other fantasy druids. Bears, wolves, companions, nature magic. It’s great. My non-meta complaints are basically that a lot of the animations (especially companions) look terrible and I wish there was more ways to rein down lightning. Also if you want to be half decent you are pushed to building around specific builds, i.e. if you randomly select fun looking skills you will be terrible
I’d say very easy start with lightning strike. Quite a few viable builds. Tempest roar is not as required as most want to make it out…

Truth be told, none of the build are really good but you just have to find one that fit your playstyle.
I liked clicking a lot, alternating left and right click and move things quickly, I came from RTS background, and dota so I like that kinda stuff. Then use the build I recommend below
- Earth stuff, trampleslide
- Lighting and storm
- Bear
- Companion
Personally, I am running bear + vuln (storm), it might not be the highest DPS but it feels great clearing dungeons.
Vulnerability is the OP stat. I suggest you get everything to synergize vulnerbility proc. I think no other builds really give you that feeling or killing tons of things as good as vuln proc stuff.
E.g. Fierce Storm Strike, Primal Pulverize, Innate Cyclone Armor, Elemental Exposure, and Natural Hurricanem then finally Supreme Cataclysm, then pick Perfect Storm for ultimate
Another underrated aspect of druid for newest players is the tankyness can hide your lack of skills. If you run bulkwark and roar with a few skulls in your jewelry I mean you can participate in the battle without needing to be revived a bunch of times.
At least, this is what my n00b self did.
Now I think about it I was in a party, not sure if this is true solo as you need to deal damage. But maxing my defence helped quite a bit.
Druids are the single strongest class in the game at end game. They can solo world bosses. And do this speed run.

Caster druids feel weak and squishy and I believe it’s because the Druid is item dependent. I have fun with it to a degree but it really can be frustrating, especially if you don’t like shapeshifting.
There are plenty of good builds without tempest roar.
This build is the only leveling build that worked for me, the big test is the butcher, this build beat butcher very easily.
No unique needed, you need a lot of power of codex however
Follow the starter build, it detailed what you need to focus on, e.g. no ultimate, do specific tornados (not the endgame tornados), most importantly you need a lot of defensive skills

If u do pulv build u dont need temp. I got val and the chest to keep in bear form. I am doing just fine
Tornado werewolf is a S tier build for nightmare dungeons pushing i’ll give you that. But quality of life and how druid feels, especially before late game, it’s not great. You will deal with spirit generation problem all the way to 70-80. I wouldn’t recommend this class. Sorc or rogue provide better experience
Another 100 lvl druid shows who’s the boss in 40 lvl ND? Why did he trim off the video? I bet he did it on purpose. And if you think druid has the best single target dmg, check Lilith kills. Druid is the only class that hasn’t done it yet
yea, a good leveling (starter is basically a storm companion build that transition into storm wolf build) build but I don’t feel I am killing more or faster after 30+, now trying to grind to 50 (on my alt) feels really slow and draggy.
druid is awesome - i dont know its game mechanic or bug - but DRUID is God(Immortal and ULTRA DMG) - all PVE content solo or party - no one cant kill Druid and all creep die fast - and druid got funny play with his skill tree - DONT listen blogers and other idiots(90% of video or guide are TRASH - with so many error - because people play 1-7 days on 1 charachter - rush all no understand and imagined that they could advise something in a NEW game!!! with your “only correct opinion” - why is yours worse?) play . try and always Analyze what you have - what you can get, and constantly carefully read what skills give, etc. and soon you will realize that you have Terminaor in your hands
PS - dont rush game - Play for fun
PSS - game is good - but as I said earlier, this is a Beta build, we are waiting for the patch and the 1’s season - then it will be possible to draw a conclusion
