How far away are game companies from including AI based voice chat filtering

Eleven labs has been on top of most Voice AI products including real time filtering. Thus, when you speak into your mic, you come out as a different voice.

Personally IO think this has kept so many people from taking the final step into group play.

I’ve seen this a thousand times easily.
People don’t talk. I personally believe from many yeats of playing MMO’s that for a variety of reasons including younger people with higher pitched voices to people with semi foreign accents speaking english.

In other case, people believe their normal voices break immersion.

It is my opinion that once a game company can offer a better immersive environment such as a controlled voice chat experience, they will beefit financially as players can delve into their in game roles without fear of being the object of xenophobia.

It’s a sociological observation.
I say, the game company who can develop the best immersive environment will be considered the best.

Apps such as the eleven labs run on cellphones seamlessly after a short teaching period down to as low as 11 seconds of original voice…

All of this can be done now using different tech, but nothing for the average joe player who has no idea of how to do any of this .

Anyone started down this road yet?

This would have no effect on me wanting to do group content. If I want groups, I’ll play a real MMO, where I still won’t talk.

Going to censor Tiananmen Square Massacre just like Red Note and DeepSeek?

Thanks for the bumps.

Taking both, in reverse order

  1. TSM: It’d be easier to filter text. Bzzt
  2. This was the more interesting reply but still only a 5.6 as everyone has their own playstyle and devs group them into groups using metrics that are similar to develop models that cover large amounts of a playerbase…

ie: You build games for large groups not niches while respecting each.

Now, this genre is unique as it has developed from one into another multiple times and across multiple versions.

It may be the only reason I’m still here at this point. I want to see them succeed.

My personal board algo say there arenot enough views to draw any conclusions as too few players are reading the forums. This observation is based on 27 years of posting to game forums and by causing the first mmo game forum wipe in history because I’m eagle eyed. pm for fun details

So, as to brief conclusions.

I like the hard hitting go in and race to max level and compete model but I do realize that most people are not streamers and are not paid to consume content at such a break neck speed to satiate viewers and this is unreasonable for most players putting the extreme pov into a niche.

If you follow the model a recent studio head just announced where he said he’d be happy if players came to his game once a month 4x a year.

That’s how you explain taking “your” players in a mathematical way without numbers.

He basically saying that by taking players from other seasonal games he can make money.

He just needs to steal them from other developers games for 1 month of their season.

He appears to ask for tacit acknowledgement and for others developers to build their games so everyone can share.

That’s dumb. Let’s keep dividing it up with new releases? Bad nath… It’s just a methodology to get a foot in the door and laugh as he does it and cause others to downgrade their products to a 1 month cycle.

I’ve watched so many get ‘played’ over the years, this isn’t worth sitting back and just laughing at the suckers agreeing to share.

PPL dont use mic on teams because its not needed. Nobody cares what they sound like. Nobody needs AI to change their voice. Many dont even know it exists.

I’m also of the view voice isn’t needed in this title. MMO where cooperation makes a huge difference, sure. Title oriented around solo play, nope.

telephone rings :phone:

  • yeeeeeees? whos speaking?
  • good morning Sire, doust thou wish to buy 10 washing machines from us?
  • no!!! (AI from scammer turns no into yes and records the conversation)
  • thx for buying at us
  • beep beep beep
