No, it cant, unless something is wrong with the gpu.
They have built in protection to throttle when overheating, and are DESIGNED to be used 100%.
If someones gpu bricked, its because it was defective one way or another, or they have some other tyoe of hardware issue (psu/power related more than likely)
The claim the game is doing it is utter nonsense, and being spread by people who think pcs are like a toaster… you plug it in and it either works or it doesnt, and thats absolutely not the case.
In that same comparison, it doesnt matter if yiu are tosting white bread, or a bagel. Its designed to heat up and toast things. What its toasting (to an extent, if youre dumb enough to try to toast aluminum foil with it submerged in water, its going to break, but I digress) anyway, if it toasts white bread fine and then it stops working when you try to toast a bagel, the bagel isnt the problem, its the toaster.
Your guys need to be vetted a bit more thoroughly, and probably replaced.
