Great idea but I think it is very difficult technically and handling a large amount of data over sockets.
The way to avoid putting too much work on the server is to offload the work to the clients but then the performance and optimization in the game will definitely be affected.

Buy? You mean steal. The investment risk of buying accounts and to have them get banned would not be good. And the easiest way for Blizzard to deal with this is make items account bound. It would force them into selling accounts which is easier for them to track.
