High Latency Issue in Diablo 4 - Possible Region Mismatch

I am experiencing high latency in Diablo 4, with ping times averaging around 188-189ms and occasionally spiking to 600ms. I am located in Istanbul, Turkey, and I believe the issue may be related to being routed to US servers instead of European servers, despite selecting the EU region.

Below are the technical details from my network tests to the server IP 137.221.106.22, which appears to be located in the US (likely Los Angeles):

The tracert shows a transatlantic hop from Amsterdam to Chicago, adding significant latency (~150ms), which suggests I am being routed to a US server. Given my location in Istanbul, I expect to connect to EU servers with latency around 40-60ms. The occasional 600ms spikes may indicate network congestion or peering issues between my ISP (Turk Telekom) and Level3/Lumen, but the primary concern is the region mismatch.

Why I might be connecting to US servers? If this is a configuration issue on my end, please advise on how to ensure I am routed to EU servers. Additionally, if there are any server-side issues or maintenance affecting EU server connectivity, I would appreciate an update.

Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your response.

Hi MrElm,

I had the exact issue yesterday, I was connected to US server (not my usual Australian). I had 250-275msec ping, not my normal 40-60msec or so.

I resolved this by using the command prompt in Windows (in administrator mode). Use the following commands,
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns

This worked for me, hope it does for you as well.

This season with latency is one thing that you can’t play, I’ll start by saying it’s not my gibit nor the high-end PC but you can’t play like this with latency that reaches 2000 but will they ever do something? It’s really frustrating trying to play and giving up the game because you can’t play it!
