I think that is something that helps quite a bit in enjoying the game - friends. I had a friend and we played for about a week when they dropped because they didn’t like the game. That was it. Not sure how you even make “friends” in the game to be honest, never seen anyone talk or seen a group invite pop up. Not sure how to even do it but I’m guessing it has something to do with the emote wheel.

Why would a person be in the wrong for enjoying a game as it is, even if the “other side” doesn’t get what they want?
That’s assuming this person cares at the same level as others.
Think people are just trying to give positivity.
No one’s actually giving permission, as if it was needed, nor does OP need or want it. Just some good old fashioned kindness.
