Hey Blizz why am I looking on discord to find people to play with?

Just curious as to why there is no group finder? Im constantly in a third party discord looking for people to run NM dungeons. Gameplay is great just concerned about the social aspect. Also end game pinnacle dungeons with more complicated mechanics for higher chance at uber drops would be a nice touch.

You answer yourself to your question. Why bother doing it in game as these tool already exist, like discord or any other application.

rofl this is such a bad post, holy heck

why have tutorials when people can just look things up online?

why have a chat system or item linking if people can just screenshot them and share on discord or send each other tells there?

not everyone lives on discord or even wants to use that often-times disaster of a platform

Calm down, I just answer the question and the more logical reason why they didn’t bother with that. Managing dev time elsewhere.

No, there’s genuinely no excuse for why this game launched with zero social tools.

This is an online-only game, and the most multiplayer-focused Diablo ever made. It exists in a persistent world where there’s simply no way to play “solo” no matter how much you want to - there will always be people around in the overworld and cities.

That it launched with barely functional chat and no actual social tools as a AAA title is deserving of criticism. Discord being a temporary solution is not a good excuse for this, and it’s a pretty poor solution for a lot of folks.

Why bother using a 3rd party app when it should have been an in game feature?

But… where tho? it wasnt to fix the issues or polish the game, thats for sure lmfao

this is asked many time since first day.
Look in post history, you have like 10 post about this high priority feature.
i also ask for Need a random players groups maker for dungeon

I assume that it was used on the bit of the end game that is available.

After the project lead was fired, or quit, during scandal times with all the time being wasted due to the fall out of that situation, leaving whatever remained of the team in a crunch to get something that works well enough to string people along in the game before the idiots in suits pushed the premature cow to market, so to speak.

Discord is becoming a cancer to live service games. I’m not sure if it’s discord reaching out trying to make deals or the other way around, but it’s going to keep going unless more people complain.

Amazon recently shut down their forums for Lost Ark and New World and moved everything over to discord. Other companies previously have also taken this route.

I imagine it won’t be long until Blizz (Microsoft) brokers a discord deal similar to this.

At least lost ark and new world were actual live service games with group finder and community tools built into the game client.

What happens when these barebone “live service” games move to discord while lacking any in-game community tools?

I agree. You should be able to find a group without using third party apps.

I tried using Discord once and it was such a pain. Everyone spamming the same LFG post, then having to add them, and so on. Let us just put on a LFG tag with a small message/description. People should be able to search that and send invites.

Imo you should try Craigslist. Probably better off paying people to play Diablo 4 with you.

You’ve got it backwards. People are resorting to 3rd party websites because the in-game LFG one sucks (eg. doesn’t really have one).

why play a game when you can watch it on youtube

I just find a crowd, open the in game quick chat and put “I need help”.

Usually have someone happy to help in a minute or less.

I am playing a sultry Sorceress though… perhaps they’re only helping so they can ogle my caboose!

I thought the player base was generally helpful… now you’ve got me questioning everything!
