I found 1 in helltide, 1 in NMD. In previous seasons they dropped everywhere legendary item can drop, basically. Don’t think it’s related to activities (I did HT/NMD a lot)

Paragon 169, 20+ hours played, and have only found one.
Though, I’m saving it for the Citadel. Just not a fan of zones where you can’t teleport out, have puzzles without really explaining the mechanics, have a time limit before insta death and require multiple players to succeed. (I.e. If you duo it, and one player dies for some reason, or doesn’t do their part of the puzzle, you’re guaranteed to die.)
I was finding one about every 5-6 hours of game play until the latest patch. I swear patch 2.0.2e had some stealth nerfs in it. I see other people complaining about lowered Obducites in Infernal Hoards and I haven’t seen another Scroll of Escape since. Effing Blizzard.
Id would be nice to hear something about this from blizzard one way or another.
As I was jamming last night I had a thought, they had become rare in the last few seasons, but as the game develops there’s more and more content with the rewards happening at the end of the event and less trash mobs dropping loot as you progress.
So since the events have less and less loot drops, and the scrolls being rare could be exacerbating the issue. All the SoE I got over the previous season were off of trash mobs and not as rewards from chests or bosses so this is probably something Blizzard should address, but since HC isnt really a concern of theirs we’re probably boned this season.
Got 1 at Paragon 36. That was several days ago, am paragon 140 now. Have not dropped again since then. So 1 total since S6 start.
Just got my first Scroll today in T3, paragon 210. almost thought it was removed from the game.

I found 1 so far with quite a lot of play since launch. Also thought maybe it was removed. Could be a coincidence but they do seem more rare now (which I’m totally fine with). I’ve been playing pretty slowly just replaying the campaigns and exploring/soaking everything (new) in though which may be part of it.
edit: Just coming back to this post a month later - the scrolls are stupidly rare now as everyone already knows. That was the only one I ever found so far this season (and it got used on a DC on some irrelevant character who died later anyway). I’d love to have at least one on my now much more advanced character… It’s ridiculous actually.
I’ve found two scrolls and am paragon 249. I burned one on accident, and the other one is in the stash because I’d usually rather die on a farming character than not having one available for pushing etc. It sucks not having crash protection in a season where many people are constantly crashing and there are bugs around every corner.

Don’t expect the scrolls to do much… I was just fighting Zir with my Crushing Hand Spiritborn… in the middle of the fight I got a network disconnect and despite having one in my inventory when I logged back on all I got to do was acknowledge my toon’s death. Basically the scrolls are worthless for DC protection.
lvl235 here and have not found a single one… I looked through the patch notes and can’t find anything about a nerf to the droprate so unless I missed something its either an undocumented change, or a bug.
Would be nice to get some clarity on whether this is intended or not because as it stands it has to be the rarest item in the game.

Good point. I totally fine with removal Scroll of Escape from the game IF game just save character on disconnect. They already have all logic for this - I hardly imagine there a way to abuse that (like alt+f4 should not be detected as DC)
btw I found 5 scrolls in total, 250 paragon at this point. One day I found two with hour between drops. It feels like overall logic behind drop is the same but rarity is like 1/10 of what before.

Right, except… sigh.
The sad and simple reason that they can’t do this, is that as soon as people know their characters will be automatically saved on disconnection, people will start abusing it.
Even if they can detect that case (not sure if that’s even possible) there are plenty of other ways to forcibly disconnect. There would even be jokers literally just yanking their network cable any time things get a bit spicy.
Paragon 120ish and found 1 scroll… and fkn wasted it because my muscle memory got twitchy… so yeah that’s fun 
well, in S4 we had abundance of scrolls. never heard of single person ‘abusing’ disconnects. It is simple too inconvenient to do. In D2 you can press ESC in offline and save you character in frame you did that. Does it prevent all HC deaths? Heck no XD.
I would rather devs speak for themselves on that removal.
BTW, unrelated, but I have magnitude less frequent DCs last week. Maybe people got burned out and moved on other games so servers more happy or something.

Instead of saying “Oh hey, I found one at P130 and none since then” tell us HOW you found it. Was it a drop or a chest reward? Details matter.
I have leveled 2 characters to 60 and have 219 paragon.
Zero scrolls.
hi, I found seven scrolls of Escape in total: two from helltide and five from normal/nightmare dungeons. On average, a scroll drops every 20 hours of farming in the open world.
I no have a proofs, but scrolls, as in previous seasons, can only drop from mobs, meaning you’ll never get them as rewards from chests, weapon racks, tree boxes and the like.
in season 2 I was once got an Scroll of Escape from Duriel after 800+ runs lol — based on which I conclude that the scroll droprate is almost identical from any mob, but in S6 it’s reduced by ~20 times

You’re really lucky if you actually found seven scrolls already throughout this season.
As for the statement that you can’t get them from chests and the like - i was thinking same and pretty much thought that’s part of the reason why we don’t get as many as before. But actually i got a scroll of escape from an undercity chest last weekend even, so it seems to be possible at least.
Anyway they stealth-nerfed the droprates for the scrolls a little bit too much, a small increase would really be appreciated.
Currently you don’t even want to put a scroll in the inventory as a protection against disconnects because basically it’s way faster to re-level and re-equip a new character then to find a new scroll of escape, which is ridiculous.
