I don’t care if Blizzard wants to make the game harder for the 1% of blasters. I don’t care if they want 90% of the player base not to play in T4. Just quit putting stuff in the season journey that requires the hard stuff you don’t want us to do. Additionally, change the glyph leveling to allow the casual builds to keep grinding. Locking casual builds out of Pit 100 by difficulty just caps these builds even further, which makes me quit the season earlier. I personally think you need to bring back glyph experience so people can grind lower pits. I prefer both play styles to have their fun and not limit each other.
I still think this is exactly why their data showed “too many” of the players made it to T4. They locked the cool new pet there. If it had been in T3, “too many” people wouldn’t have gone to T4.
I appreciate you taking the time to post here about it.
Don’t put the rewards behind T4 and people won’t play there. Simple.
I say they should just lower the cap of glyphs to 50, problem solved. Don’t even need to adjust their values, as they have horrible diminishing returns the higher they get anyway. Make it like Ultimates where they just nerf the cap.
Many made it to T4 because most played Bloodwave necro, Earthquake Barb or the likes and with minimal gear it was easy. Last season, many probably also made it to T4 playing SB.
i agree that they should cut down on the t4 stuff in the season journey. Casuals are part of the playerbase, and its fair to support them. So yea, season journey should focus on t3.
its fine if some things are tied to t4 - for 100% completition, but you guys should be able to get it done on t3 for the rewards
T4 definitely should not be needed for finishing the journey.
Seems fine that there are parts of the journey that is T4 based, but since you only need to finish X of Y goals in each tier of the journey, that would not be an issue.
What’s funny is each season the S tier changes.
Why would any want to play a C tier class until they reached seasons journey end? If they don’t balance the classes then it can expected that a lot will play top meta even if they hold their nose doing it. Especially if they put the rewards where it’s harder for lower tiers to achieve.
Iuno.
i mean of course i do care about the meta, but most importantly i want to play a build i enjoy. Usually i consider S and A tier, and if nothing appeals at all B tier works too.
I mean, the strongest builds dont bring me any joy if i dont enjoy the class or build. Hence why i didnt touch spiritborns in s6 for example ^^
What bother me the most with in all this debate about S8 being harder is Blizzard doing stuff like S6 SB or S7 Bloodwave Necro and then showing crappy charts at the Campfire to prove that levelling became too fast and saying that too many players are reaching Torment 4. Shouldn’t they instead be happy that so many players are pushing to the higher game difficulty?
i mean nothing of that has anything to do with the leveling curve. Its not like you play a bloodwave necro from lvl 20 onwards or whatever. (especially since the skill isnt even available there :P)
but in a way i agree, the charts are… ugh.
I think it’s available at lv 15 if you have all the rep unlocked. Somewhere around there, quite early.
All you really need is Fastblood, or something else to reduce your Ult CD.
I agree that levelling is not the right word. I should have used progression instead.
Blizzard cannot complain that too many players are reaching T4 and at the same time allowing builds that can target the highest game difficulty with minimum progression effort.
Didnt they specifically claim they would try to nerf those OP builds in S8, instead if their previous nonsense stance of just letting it stay for the whole season.
They didnt not say this. They said they wouldnt wait until mid season anymore to “balance”. time will tell what this actually means.
Disagree…
S8 T4 will be perfectly doable for at least 50% of the player base, and if there’s no rewards for doing T4, why go T4???
Simply scrap T4, and leave T3 as game top…
My point was that they are the ones responsible for the situation. I was bothered by the way they introduced the changes they were planning for S8.
And no, they didn’t say they were planning on nerfing those builds. They said they would fix any unintended interactions as soon as possible, as they did this season with the Witchcraft powers. They just want to suppress any shortcut that players could use to reach power too easily.
That will teach me not to have increased expectations for anything Blizzard say or do
i am sure that s8 will be the same joke 2 days season like any other.
For fun.
No other rewards are needed in a game.
higher difficulties to mean higher chances for good rewards in a way.
if t4 would be the same as t3 but just rougher… that wouldnt serve a purpose. Isnt it fine that people can strive to hit a higher tier?
I had a big laugh recently as many people who kept brining up “DEI Devs” are now super scared to be excluded from t4 (Which clearly wont be the case).
but yea, as for OPs worry i totally agree.
