Grouping for the Dark Citadel might not be as bad as previously thought

Still forced grouping

Do not judge till you give it a chance, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge game mechanic, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you

I’m still going to wait and still how it all plays out. before jumping onto the “oh this should or should not be part of the game.”

I have concerns because the D4 community isn’t really built around co-op. Not to mention the game itself isn’t very balanced as there can be some astounding differences in builds of the same level. This doesn’t lead to a good co-op situation.

Where can I sign up for a tour?

Discord maybe. But first I’ll have to learn everything about the citadel runs.

If grouping is automated, at least trolls will have a much better experience in the Citadel.
I guess you win some, you lose some.

Or two people join up, and kick the third player right before the end boss dies, after they spent an hour in there.
The new D4 meta game is born. Maybe the forum endgame will fizzle out…

Noobs are people too. True pro gamers lovingly guide them into learning the Way of the Jedi. They elevate them to greatness. Barring that, they pick up the slack and carry the burden for the good of the team.

Chumps throw them under the bus, resort to ridicule and emit an aura of superiority. It’s a good bet these… creatures… aren’t worth grouping with in the first place. They’re not team players, demand all the credit and defer all the blame to others. They should be stuffed into the Goblin Cave to be where they belong.

I think the answer to this question is going to make or break dark citadel for a lot of people. If I go in there for 2 hours and then the group breaks up and I lose all that progress, forget it.

I’m happy for my reliable couch-coop partner. I don’t have to worry about anything except whether we enjoy the content and whether it’s worth doing.

Bro for the last time I’m not your friend.

You used chloroform and chains to lure me in after false promises of buying the expansion for me.

Will the matcher take into consideration the “haves” (sorc, rogue) vs. “have nots” (barb, druid)?

Also, I’ve heard the rewards are cosmetic…say it isn’t so! I’m not a drag queen.

It puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.

NO, you’ll get in a party, they will inspect your hero and if you don’t have the gear they will kick you. It is no better than any other forced group content in any other game.

They should have stuck with the Diablo formula of groups getting increased magic find and the activity scales to group size and solo players just get no magic find. Like every Diablo game since D2 has done it. They reinvented the wheel and turned it into a square.

This is not going to happen that much and you can make your profile hidden if you want.

People keep getting all upset over gatekeeping. I dont know why this is so hard… just list your own group. Then it is you that is in charge of the gatekeeping. Why are people so timid that they cant just list their own group.

When U get in the group and they inspect you and see your gear isn’t godly . Instant kick

Yeah, you could do that, then they’ll just auto kick you for being private.

Wait, is this an option for all group making activities or just the raid? This would be very cool if it’s something you can use for everything.

That way, players who aren’t toxic can find each other. Because toxic players wouldn’t use this method.

Pub grs assume solo 4p contents.

Proper GR groups are different.

D3 builds are so imbalanced that efficiency is tiered.

D4 wont be so picky on builds, but theres big difference between builds / players as well. End of day, you can hide your profile.

One of senior developer is a d3 fan. Seasoned D3 player have established communities of social networks. So make friends. Making friends doesnt mean you have to stick with each other 24/7. You can sit in discord with bunch of people and each doing their own things. But when someone needs help, it feels good to be supportive and supported. Such as mats, gear & gold sharing in current D4.

I’m on the other side of this problem. Life is busy and I’m worried that I’ll have to bail on a group. With boss rotations I could always ask to summon first, so that if I have to dip in not scamming anybody. This will be more tricky for me.
