You are more or less correct. I see on the forums more people with higher end systems complaining than I do lower end. But I do get them from all forms of setups.
Yeah, any other game, I can crank it up, max it out, and its fine. This one. Nope. Its uber sensitive. And after a month of testing earlier this year, the only conclusion I can come up with is to try to keep the in-game latency response to around 9-10ms. (which is why the 100FPS is the break point)
An FPS lower than that, the in-game latency goes up. But if you get to where the game FPS isn’t rock stable at say… 120FPS (because it can dip when doing certain things) it seems to spike the system. And this is less noticeable with DLSS, but you pretty much need DLSS in order to keep the frame rate higher anyway.
I can crank the game to max settings, max RT, everything. Choose an FPS of 400 in-game. And the system will try to hit FPS as high as 200. But it becomes a stutter fest, as the RT is very demanding for some reason. And then you get big swings in the performance, and that I think is what leads to crashing randomly.
Here is a video I did on this a couple months ago, and have learned more since, but you get the idea:

And I can fill up and max out my Virtual Memory, especially if I teleport from town to town, over and over with those settings. That really causes it to blow up. I have been fortunate that my system has been relatively problem free, but I have constantly taken steps to keep it stable and adjusting as they continue to add to the game.
So yeah. I disable RT completely. I set a cap of 100FPS, and the game plays fine really for me. I’m currently still running the 566.36 driver though. I haven’t ventured to the newer ones yet. But I tested the system with every driver between 551.31 to 566.36 without any issues with any of them.
