Godslayer vs harlequin crest

Only on certain skills. Like defense skills get diminished returns on the cool down per skill.
But damage skills get a flat increase. In the case of LB i believe that is 4 percent more weapon damage to your base per skill. No diminished returns.

For those builds like psn traps where you are still abit squishy and need setup time to make things go boom

If you find Harlequin, you owe it to everyone else with bad RNG to wear it. Even if it’s not BIS, you owe it to everyone else. Or please make donation in the useless helm bin so I can pick it up from you.

As far as weapon damage% increase is concerned there is no diminishing returns, but there is diminishing returns when it comes to overall damage increase.

For example, going from rank 1 BL (60% weapon damage) to rank 5 BL (84% weapon damage) will increase BL damage by 84%/60% - 1 = 40%.

Going from rank 5 to rank 9 will increase BL damage by 108%/84% - 1 = 28.6%

Going from rank 9 to rank 13 will increase BL damage by 132%/108% - 1 = 22.2%

Going from rank 13 to rank 16 will increase BL damage by 150%/132% - 1 = 13.6%

Not sure where you learned math. But basically if you have 2000 base damage on weapon. You go from base 60 percent which is 1200 dmg to 150 percent which is 3000 damage. THe resulting increase would depend on your percent after base damage stats. Say you have 3000 percent dmg(since all dmg additive now) That takes your dmg from 36000 to 90000.
Then you add things like crit dmg and otehr things that are also added after that sheet dmg that gap gets MUCH higher.
And that is not diminished returns. That is just a difference in percentage of the base it changes. But every single percent adds the same exact base damage.
So if you have that same 2000 dmg weapon dmg. YOu go up that 4 percent it adds exactly 800 to your base whether it is 60 to 64 or 10000 to 10004 percent.

Shako for anything serious and Godcrown for speedruns or helltides.

Shako for anything. Godslayer is not even close. A typical all out dmg barely any defense build with godslayer shows around 40-50k sheet dmg on LB. A full defensive build with shako on shows 94k dmg on LB.

Ball Lightnng is so powerful you dont need extra power / survive in helltides or speed runs at LV 100 with good gear and glyphs. You can use godcrown and make use of the gathering quite well. Gathering up mobs is a very potent ability. Especially for BL to save time and gather cinders faster.

Gather mobs for cinders? You already 2 packs away by the time the cinders drop if you farming right. You go back later and pick them up when mobs respawn.
Proper LB build you running faster than horse speed almost as fast as the sprint mobs have a delay before items hit the ground there is no way to stand around and loot if you being efficient.

You dont need shako for helltides. Running it over Godcrown is a mistake for the powerful heroes. Even using your method, the cinders will be more concentrated requiring less movement. Godcrown is a really great item for helltides. TRY IT!

Movement speed / utility is king in helltides. You dont need even more damage. Everything already dies instantly. You need to be at 200% movespeed. I change an amulet out just for this reason as my main dint roll movespeed.

once every 12 secs to pull mobs in is not a big deal. And I wear spear my run speed always buffed 20 secs out of 30. And my neck missing movement speed too was the only item i just could not get a good drop on.
Also doing helltides or clearing NMs i run fireball enchant everything dies before it ever gets yanked anyway. Heck if kill clear off screen and any people near me they also get the Fireball enchant effects which is weird but there is a lot of running around for cinders no matter what you do because of this.

Question you have to ask is would all the mobs you killed still die if you were using godcrown instead of shako? If yes then you are gimping your speed gathering cinders even if only slightly. I like your fireball enchant idea. Ima try that instead of lightning spear! Also I want that spear so bad. Even more than shako. I like fun. But I hit 0 ubers so far in 30 runs and I dont buy runs.

Got shako and 2 spears in 5 pulls. 200ish pulls after that NONE. And i have not really played since the first week of s2 much at all.
Lol did not only not buy any but out of those 200 runs i personally probably farmed 100 of the pulls myself. Usually either duoed or trio’d it and usually had double the runs of the others in group.
Well no at the start one my friends was on xbox and he used group finder to carry people for mats. But that did not last long before people found out their pulls were worth something and could get more out of them.

I’m not gonna quote your whole nonsense reply so that will do.

You can get +BL ranks from only amulets, pants and Harlequinn Crest, and only amulets can roll additive damage affixes which are bad because there are more important affixes for amulets.

That means you aren’t likely to alter your additive damage affixes when you change those three slots. Your base weapon and additive damage affixes are irrelevant in this discussion because those remain the same in the comparisons. The only variable is BL rank or its weapon damage percentage per hit.

Since you don’t get all +BL ranks from one piece of item, you have to compare the effectiveness of +BL ranks piece by piece.

Say you have Harlequinn Crest and +3 all Mastery skills on amulet, equipping pants with +4 BL will increase BL damage by only 150%/126% - 1 = 19%

However if you equip Tibault’s Will instead you can get a 40% damage increase.

The higher BL rank you already have, the lower the effectiveness of additional +BL ranks will be. That is diminishing returns.

If you can choose, I’d argue harlequin crest is better overall. All your skills will deal increased damage consistently with that +4 when you have harlequin crest on(not to mention some will also benefit from reduced cooldown as their rank increases).

Godslayer only works for 3 seconds every 12, that is 1/4 of the time, I can’t tell if the duration is increased by stacking crowd control duration or not (but even if it is, I’d still rather use Harlequin for the extra damage reduction and regeneration that the godslayer lacks, on top of more HP)

Andariel’s lifesteal is not bugged btw, it is a good placeholder for harlequin crest. The poison nova adds a significant amount of damage over time, it synergizes very well with the new tal rasha ring for sorcs… and it has 15% attack speed. the only thing it misses is the cooldown reduction, if it had cdr too, I’d use it over harlequin crest even.

I have noticed it doesn’t heal as much as one would expect, the math might be bugged like people say, but it still does, quite decently too at least on my sorc. if anything, it heals more than that warmth passive that cost 5 skills points to get.

Changed all this up a little, swapped tp for ice-armor, build is updated. Just sacrificed speed for survivability in NM70+. Added Tibault’s will also.

. That is NOT diminished returns you get the same BASE damage for every single percent. That dmg is less of a percent of the damage the higher your base is but still the same exact value. No matter what ever single level of skill is 1 percent of that base the base never changes so the value remains the same.
And how is amulet only additive dmg modifiers? Paragon weapon chest rings aspects nearly everything has some kind of additive damage increase. Unless you talking about flat dmg and chest and weapon have that too(if you have spear).

Only amulet out of those three slots can roll additive damage affixes.

When you evaluate damage increase you don’t just look at simple things like how much the base weapon damage has increased. Instead you have to evaluate the overall effective damage increase especially when you compare to things like Godslayer Crown that provides a damage multiplier.

First sentence of my first reply that you probably overlooked.

But that statement is wrong. There is a difference in the percent of overall damage increase not the actual value.
And the percent you get from BL adds to base dmg not to total dmg like thing like Godslayer. And because of the massive amounts of percent to total damage sources we get base Damage increases your overall damage far more.
