You are half right. Yeah NMDs are forced thx to glyphs… But whole aRPG is about gearing…
When you are able to get gear from content, I would not consider it as forced just for glyphs.
Problem with OW/Tree/HT is without boss material noone would ever do them, bcs you simple can´t get gear from it… Ofc I am talking about endgame phase/gear.

It would be interesting to have something like OP suggested, maybe a bit toned down, and focused of course on the adventuring aspect rather than direct character power like the paragon boards.
I kind of like the idea of having a small source of magic find and some seasonal bonuses, because I find the ashes/urns system too basic, a good idea though, but too rudimentary.
