ℹ ggi's VoH Review

I’m already bored.

Why am I SOOO bored with this brand new expansion already, but when D2: LOD came out, I could not get enough? I legit denied myself sleep and food to play it.

Why can’t we get that magic back? What even is this game and company anymore?

What specifically do you need the game to have?

The ability to build a good, powerful, functional build on every class and for every class to be on par with the others…

A Paladin.

Runewords that actually create new powerful items.

About 3 times as many Uniques in the game that grant people the ability to define builds and make them functional (again, for variety).

For those uniques to drop for all classes so we can farm for items on a main to make builds on alts.

For us to have no RNG with masterworking except for the roll on the stat we want (in other words, PICKING the stat we want and having the range be RNG rather than if we can get the stat we want).

For enchanting to offer 4 options instead of 3.

3 times as many Aspects to let us create and engage a variety of builds for each class.

More events to occur in dungeons to make them more enjoyable to run in the hopes of finding those events. (as in, scripted, fun, mulititasked, layered events that occur randomly and you never know which one you’re going to get in the run).

More body options for all classes. (If I want a thicker in the middle sorc, so be it. If I want a tall slim ginger Druid like in D2, so be it . If I wanna be a skinny but cut psycho looking barbarian, so be it.)

The ability to unlock the nice transmogs from the store with in-game effort. Let’s face it: the store Transmogs are far, far, FAR better looking than literally everything we get for free and it’s a crime. They sold us on that not being the case, but here we are.

Entire new skill trees for every class. Fire tree for Druids. Arcane tree for Sorcs. Sentry/Grenades for Rogue. Amphibian/Frog/Water based tree for Spiritborn. More thrown weapon options for Barb. Poison/Disease tree for Necro.

More mastery passives for each tree for each class that unlocks more ways to play. (Fire/Lightning combo mastery for sorcs, for example).

A horadric cube that lets us convert things on the fly with recipes and options.

An entire whole different map to explore Hell as its own world.

I could go on.

See that is much more helpful than saying I’m bored.

This is one of the major issues i have.

They hard so hellbent on making small iterations to endgame to sell us the ever same content i slight variations.

See back then when they talked about D4 and it’s open world and dark approach and seasons i thought i goes like this.

Every new seasons we get new locations (Overwold) to explore, entire new quest lines, New bosses, New stories on par with main storyline.

I realy thought they want to creat a good diablo game realy pushing the Lore and experience.

Instead they made this some kind of arcade game. This is not a Dark game it’s a flashy cartoony game in a dark look. This is more D3 then D3 itself from a Gameplay PoV.

I just want a lot of items and a lot of nice dark places to explore. I don’t need to pushb the ever same dungeons over and over and over and over and over.

From that point of view Diablo is a massiv dissapointment. Biblical.

Right.

But I am not a Dev.

It’s their job to do those things, and people have told them everything I’ve suggested ad nauseam.

We got runewords, but they’re so milquetoast-y and low effort that we can eliminate them entirely and nobody would notice or care.

Very good review, this expansion is a 4/10 to me for all the reasons you said.

People often leave very vague comments. This has led to the Blizzard interpretation of what players want. Most often they don’t get it right. That is why being specific is so important.

id like to keep my runewords. are they d2 like? no.
do i like them tho? yes

that is true, blizzards job is to provide a product. we all got pretty varying opinions on many matters, so…

either way - we need more iggi vibes here!

Non spiritborns class’s need a 10-15% power increase. At a certain gear level pit 100s should be speed farmable for all classes. Point of clarity, the certain point I refer to for gear is mostly 2-3 ga’s on all items max glyphs and min 2-3 master working crits on important stats. When a character is this geared a level 100 should be a 2-3 min farm not a 8-12 min slog.

Someone doesn’t play barb.

The mighty throw build is doing well because it snapshotting the overpower mechanic which will get fixed later. 90% of other barb builds are sitting on C tier. This class need more than tweaks, it needs a major trauma surgery.

Just a few points I agree with (Rune one is more mehh). Mostly cant agree enough with your assessment of difficulty and the rest of the classes, and fortunately this is where Blizzard will try and reinvent the wheel instead of building on a good foundation. Personally I wouldnt be surprised if they took the remaining classes to the Spiritborn stratosphere and nerfed the difficulty just because thats probably the easy way out…
Id rate it 7.5/10 maybe 8 but the real rating comes next season after they fix their SB that they were desperately trying to sell

Do you work for Blizz? Blaming the players for the state of the game is comical

Good review, mostly on point. It’s too bad that Meph isn’t a new Tormented Boss…
Rod of Kep should have been the Mythic, not the other 2 useless spears.

There’s a forum poster whose username starts with l who must be shocked right now.

He is going to parlay his forum fame into trying to be some kind of youtuber.

I still think it’s super funny that you stopped posting on 9999 just so you could release some video on 10k posts like you are some kind of celebrity.

I equally find it funny that you stick around in a forum that you don’t even play the game of. So I guess we’re both funny in that regard.

However I have no illusions of grandeur of my ‘fame’ if one can even call it that. Don’t worry bob, I won’t be leaving the forums. I wouldn’t dare deprive you of the fun you have of trying to make fun of me or make snide comments here or there. You’re kind of like the 3 year old nephew who tells you that you have a big nose. I mean he’s not wrong, but you can’t necessarily hate him either.

You’re inclined to hate people for not being wrong?
