Seasons are unnecessary and actually detrimental to the longevity of games. I will not create a new character each season for any game, sorry not happening. I would prefer to continue playing my existing character and experience new content with it rather than starting over from scratch. If the new content is mid-level and then if I really want to experience it I would create a new character to do so.
Im with you all the way, but thats not going to happen. Blizzard is making too much off the shop and BP. If seasons arent for you then just pop in whenever the expansions are released.
Ladders are a staple in arpgs guys while I’m not a big fan of seasons I am a big fan of resets
Indeed, won’t happen…
And seasons are part of D core games series…
Really, it’s quite the oposite…
It’s the reset that keeps me coming back. It would take a lot of new content every few months to keep me at the same level of engagement.
Class & build balance would need to be fixed and kept stable.
Lucky for you, there is an eternal server. Enjoy!!
To be fair, the seasonal gimmicks are only helping you push slightly farther in the Pit. They also typically add an extra grind to them. So if you just want another grind on top of the already grindy things you’ve been doing the entire time on a maxed out character, it’ll lose its luster rather quickly.
Let me ask you this, did you play this current season? If so did you get to T4 and start up the Pits? Did you enjoy the experience or felt it was the same thing with an added grindy seasonal gimmick? These are the questions you have to ask yourself, if you think the seasonal realm is worth it over the eternal realm. Blizzard won’t get rid of seasons, I can almost guarantee that, but you don’t have to keep playing them if you don’t want to.
They would have to actually work on expansion then and that’s just to much work for them now days. Seasons were a way to give minimum content and make money but people are getting tired of no content or repeating the same content over with a different name
To be honest once I starting doing the pit is when I quit this season, disliked since they were introduced and now we’re forced to do them. And it is exactly the same as last season. (Pit wise)
They’ve pushed back seasons before to address issues, should do the same now and focus on fixing what’s broken rather than releasing new content that will only break more.
How is this even a complaint? This game isn’t seasonal only. There is literally a version of the game you can play that isn’t effected by seasons in anyway.
Play on Eternal, it is that simple. You will never have to worry about seasons again, and you won’t have to waste all of our time reading something that has an obvious solution.
Completely agree with you here. I do them just enough to level some glyphs for the bonuses, but beyond that, there’s no reason for me to keep going. My goal every season is to complete the seasonal objectives and get the freebies from the battle pass, that’s it. I enjoy it because I don’t spend hours of my time needlessly grinding away for an extra Pit level.
I’m driven by goals. If my character’s last Pit done was 100, or below that, that’s perfectly fine, as it’s not one of my goals every season. Now if the Pit were more exciting, offered some kind of challenge or progression beyond just another level where enemies have higher HP, sure I’d be more inclined to stick around for a bit.
If they removed seasons the game would die.
the reason this game failed n lost millions is because it failed to cater to majority of players who simply many never played diablo 1 2 3.
to diablo/blizz vets things like seasonal realm may seem fine but not to the majority. things like season battlepass, journey, etc shouldnt only be in season realm heck “new” content shouldn’t be on a whole separate realm. it doesn’t make real good sense to do things all over again when they would prefer not to.
if you think about the game from a player who is completely new to diablo and even blizzard then it’ll make more sense.
It isn’t just new players, I played since d1 and I absolutely hate the seasonal model, however they have catered to new players hence how easy the game is, arpg vets don’t want loot raining from the sky and don’t want to be max level in a few hours. If they didn’t cater to y’all who did they cater to?
surprise surprise to NO ONE!
Ive said that since the very beginning. The game was advertised everywhere including the Super Bowl. I would bet the majority of that 10 million were new players to the genre. When they hear “season” they are thinking " “cool, just like WOW or other RPGs where I get to progress my main.” Its only been a standard in rpgs since …forever. Diablo like arpgs are only played by a niche audience.(I know thats hard for some to understand)
Most of the new players had no idea about resets until S1. And the comments I saw was mostly the same …“You expect me to toss my main and regrind all that sh#t again with a new character? No thanks.”
Diablo like arpgs will continue to be a niche genre so long as the ground hog day model stays in place.
I too have played every diablo since the first one. I never did ladder in d2 though I did play some online. I did maybe one night’s worth of seasonal in d3 and was completely eternal there otherwise as well. Maxed out a few monks, a necro, a few others. Got my money’s worth out of d3 without ever engaging with it from a seasonal perspective except one night when my friend rushed my character to cap in one go and then I never played it again.
I find in this specific game now that I do like starting over better than bricking ancestrals and chasing even a single greater affix that isn’t pointless. Everything at the end of this game is just arbitrary number goes up with copious gambling front and center.
At least when I’m leveling I find fresh items so fast that bricking something is hardly a speed bump. I am at 60/108 now and am just starting to replace my 750s in torment one. I haven’t logged in since yesterday because frankly I just don’t feel like farming obducite and doing the whole masterworking thing.
It demotivates me from progressing past that point. I might piss around with it some more, I might quit until next season, hell, I might just fire up another level one. In the end it’s all just a treadmill and frankly it’s kind of weird to completely not care where I’m at in the game at all but yet it’s where I’m at.
what good old days? you mean D2 before seasons? wich where also optional, same as now?
why do you want them to remove seasons (wich many players asked to return every game) while you have the eternal realm?
wouldn’t it be better if blizzard would let you play previous season quests on eternal?
something like Borderlands 3 did with their events. wich you can now enable when ever you like (or disable completely)
this would probably work best for everybody. people who want to start over every season can and those that don’t want too have to wait untill next season to get it.
not sure if they should keep the seasonal quest (achievements and rewards) as that would be a big reason to play seasons (but then you’ll want those on eternal too i guess)
why does everybody always ask to remove something THEY don’t like, and hardly ever ask something for them while leaving the other stuff as it is.
been quite a while since we had a “please remove seasons!” thread.
Long story short: not going to happen.
