Get rid of B tier builds

There must always be a Lich King

I have said this from preseason, bring everything to where Sorc is (was in preseason), at least that felt like a game.

1 - Level of The Pit it can clear
2 - Effectiveness on trash mobs
3 - Effectiveness on Bosses
4 - Clear Speed
5 - Investment vs Power (gear requirements, aspects, glyphs etc.)
6 - How easy/difficult it is to use? Do you have to watch buff icons, count swaps, wait for CDs and land certain attacks to be effective?
7 - How it feels to use. Is the gameplay fluid?
8 - Can it 1 Shot Bosses consistently?
9 - Do you have flexibility in how it is built?
10 - Is it good for all content types?

That is typically a rough outline of metrics. Something that is S+ Tier generally means it is actually broken.

S Tier means something will get nerfed since certain gear, skills, or Aspects make it scale ridiculously.

A Tier is where most things should be at.

B Tier means there were overcorrections and nerfs or stuff had been neglected. It is probably missing support and synergy to be great.

Anything below that and Blizzard has no idea what it is doing with the Builds or Skills.

What do you want? A d3 where everything is OP? Game is easy enough already without having every build/class being broken OP

I doubt, that they explicitly design all the builds, that people discovered. They are probably surprised, by what people are really playing.

The D4 Devs have given you the opportunity to stop making bad builds. It’s not their fault you can’t stop the bad.

I don’t get it. If you can clear Pit 61 you can kill Tormented Bosses, right? You have the defenses to clear 61 then you have the defenses for Torments so long as you stay at 0-1 debuff stacks.

Maybe before they nerfed the Pit to the ground.

I don’t think so.
A tormented boss has level 199
In Pit 61 the monster level is 161 (or 160 or 162) i think.
so the tormented boss is more difficult than a pit 61.

Where is the thumbs down button when you need it?
Why are we only allowed to give positive feedback on here?
Sometimes a quick and easy thumbs down tells the person all they need to know.

I have been wanting this for awhile.

That’s exactly the D3 mentality: go for popularity at all costs. Don’t say what you think is right, instead, say what is going to be POPULAR. It’s that damn ā€œherd mentalityā€, which you want to ENFORCE. -_-

Not every build needs to be able to do Tormented bosses. Some builds are designed to just speed farm easier content. A Tormented Boss killer build might not be as efficient to do the said speed farming build etc.

And there will be more use cases around builds. Do better and use your brain.

Or perhaps some builds people have came up with were not even designed to be a build to begin with.

Bro, he just suggested a thumbs-down button. Breathe.

they should steal an idea from world of warcraft retail and just have a ā€œstarter buildā€ template that you pick for your class which is considered the ā€œb tierā€ and when you get into wt3 change that template to the ā€œa tierā€ template and when you move to wt4 - auto template into the ā€œs tierā€ and win for all

The problem people have with Tormented bosses is players get hit too much. There’s no DPS check. There’s no enrage timer. 98% fail attempts are from 4+ tormented stacks.

Thank you. I needed a good laugh this morning.

You can’t stop people from crafting bad builds.

If someone were to create a build that literally maxed out the basic abilities (28 points), then chose a keystone passive, an ultimate, and a bunch of passives so that they only have basics + ultimate on their bars, this would be an absolutely horrendous build, no matter the class (except maybe barb).

You can’t balance the game around bad builds, but you can make different builds that you think people will like, and people will come up with something else that is unexpectedly more powerful, or not as powerful (but maybe more synergistic or fun).

So the entire premise of this post is flawed.

Blizzard will do whatever they can to lower the top performers and raise the bottom performers, within reason.

But you can’t just ā€œremove all B tier buildsā€, because it’s literally impossible unless every single skill in the game does exactly the same thing, and nobody wants a game like that.

Ok dude they put HoTa on B tier and I took HoTa to pit 125… So either the content creators don’t know what they are talking about… Or I just need to start becoming a content creator… Cuz HoTa wasn’t that bad
