Worst thing is that gear at level 20 and level 90 is exactly the same just with bigger numbers.
10+ years of D3 lessons learned, not applied. In 2025-6 we can expect to see a D4 2.0 expansion like reaper of souls that will start the rapid treadmill of making this the best game ever. In the meantime, after a few more weeks I’ll go back to playing D3. Every season. Until they make this game better.
Skill issue. Never had this problem or anyone that i’ve played with has this issue.
30 minutes for a 21? Jesus. You can just run a normal dungeon and get 300k on t4
Yeah, it’s bad. The only thing you can easily upgrade is weapon within first hour in a higher tier, then any progress stops forever. Weapon damage is so easy to even double by a single drop, while transitioning to higher tier, but rest of the items say for ages.
Rerollig affixes is too expensive, considering it gives just 2 instead of 3 options and you can’t add new ones if some rare has less than the max possible properties. Even in game like PoE, which is suppose to be hardcore you can exactly chose specific affixes, but here everything is random and ridiculously expensive.
Lack of trading aspects/legendaries suck.
The current mechanics has also a way to clear all those garbage legendaries to be used for your advantage. But I dont think you have figured it out yet. I cleared my bags with 36 legendaries and it was all perfectly fine for me.
I assume you’re in WT4 and in the 700s in item power? That’s something of a soft cap in player power, by design. D3 had an infinite power progression and people hated it because it was an awful grind. In D4, endgame builds are very accessible.
Filtering system is a must if you plan on going beyond basic stats. Last Epoch has a good filtering system, too.
D4 came out a lot earlier than I thought it would, and considering the aggressive schedule I’d say it’s in a very good starting point. I expect a lot of polish and new features like loot filters at some point in the future.
Wish they just make pushing nightmare dungeon lvls have higher gear. Would have been a great incentive to push your char to more difficulties, enabling higher lvl gear to push more nightmares. Seemed like a good loop, keep you involved . Pretty braindead for design. But able to keep players involved. It just sucks knowing that you can get the same gear in a vanilla version of the dungeon compared to nightmare version. Only main difference is that you get glyph exp in nightmares, but they take double the time if you actually challenging yourself to push nightmare lvls
Nightmare dungeons are optional and not meant to be the definitive way to play the endgame. If you could get ilvl 900 gear there or something then the rest of the content would become pointless.
What? I keep getting upgrades Steadily
Its almost always minor upgrades, But in the end, it all counts
Expecting BiS Pieces right away, is a mentality issue , it just doesnt really happen
Im only level 73 tho
But then, Ive heard many people having difficulties finding gear at that point , but eh
Its kinda tricky to figure, if u can turn a specific piece into a WoWza , With a lot of rolls
Yeah I can see it from that point of view too. It would basically make nightmares the only gear loot system. But I mean the glyph rewards right now just don’t feel rewarding to push higher lvls . I mean at a certain point , it’s either run easiest dungeon braindead 1k times to get some gear . If you’re putting in more effort to “sweat” to push your limits in higher nightmares, I feel the rewards should be SOMETHING. Don’t have to make it like better gear than other options in game . Just maybe more gear. But right now , for the time to run a nightmare dungeon it just doesn’t rly feel worth it. Same lvl gear drops in tier 50 as it does in a regular vanilla dungeon? Basically it’s just a super time braindead sink then. No actual competition for majority of game? Shouldn’t players be rewarded for completing more difficult challenges ?
They just copied the aspects stuff from D:I and made it worse. All legendaries are just aspect providers, most of which you don’t need, and you need to check every single rare for the combination of the few affixes that every build uses. All games that require you to check stats on rares have loot FILTERS.
Except in those games you don’t need gold and materials don’t come from equipment.
So you can just set a loot filter and enjoy the hack & slashing until something drops.
In D4 you NEED gold and you NEED crafting materials. So you also NEED to pick up those 99.99% of loot you don’t want to equip. It’s awful!
Nightmare dungeons are by no means optional… They’re the only way to level up glyphs, and they’re the most consistent and readily available source of legendaries and uniques.
People don’t understand how gimped Minion and Bone Spear necros are by WT4 affixes. The suppression bubble makes your skeletal mages nonexistent, and even if you get inside the bubble, bone spear only damages with the first projectile but the return splinters are destroyed by the bubble.
Moreover, minions don’t focus the defense aura mobs, so you have to rush in to bone spear the defense aura mob in melee range in the middle of a rain of aoe fear and frost and fire aoe’s.
The cherry on top is that minions get affected by the aoe CC’s, and since you can’t control where they position, they spend half the dungeon frozen or running away not doing any damage.
Then there’s the Frozen affix. A revenant on a tier 21 Zenith swubg on me once, I got Frozen, and the second hit deleted me. My lowest item is 792, the rest 795-818, so I’m not undergeared. Meanwhile I’m able to facetank The Butcher on other tier 21s without losing more than 20% of my health and can kill bosses with ult in less than 10 secs, so the balancing of elites and affixes are terrible.
TLDR the dungeons take long because the affixes and class design of the necro with current state of minions particularly gimps the class. Minions need to be CC immune and their projectiles should ignore the suppression bubble. They should also target what you target.
150 hours for a casual is a joke. No way in hell someone who plays an hour a day will ever even see level 100. Im level 81 and have over 150 hours already
This is such a generic answer - hurdur dont like dont play - I’ve been playing Diablo since D1 and this game has sucked the life out of the franchise, dare I say it, more than D3 did at launch.
People come here to speak up so they might get their voices heard because theyre passionate. Unlike people like yourself who are happy to be a sheep.
Complaining about something doesn’t mean you hate it. It usually means you like/care about it but understand that there could be improvements.
If you go to a restaurant and order a lovely medium rare stake and it comes out to you medium rare but it was cooked on a dirty grill so there is a bad taste to it, are you not going to complain or give critical feedback?
