And therein lies the problem, expectations. We all have them.
That’s why most people are unhappy and the other people on the forum with barely any expectations are wondering why people aren’t so happy with the game.

A full set of primals in 2 hours? Super lucky RNG there!!
I feel like D3 is a fun weekend thing with some friends and drinks but in its current state its nothing that would really get me hooked or long term play more than a few days per season, as such is its design tbh
Agree in Less than 20 characters
We already have bounties and GRs (tree and NM dungeons), this is D3. Sorry to burst your bubble.
I kind of remember most of the D3 bosses. I don’t think there’s hardly any memorable bosses in Diablo 4. I’m not trying to be nasty I’m just saying that’s how I feel. I’m still glad I bought the game and I had a lot of fun playing it so far.
Edit - I’m talking about the campaign bosses. Not the GR bosses.
The D3 GR bosses are on same level as D4 dungeon bosses just standing there and waiting to get killed. D3 has such as power spike all the time that you delete the bosses there even faster then in D4.
No thats whiners whining for free gears
Legendaries still rain like candy
Crap, pretty soon these forums are gonna be full of keyboard warriors demanding banwaves daily
I liked D3. I played it for 6 months but why keep playing it after completing it? That’s when it became a bore. It’s not like forever WoW endlessly.
I am hoping D4 will be good for 6 months.
The itemhunt is just not rewarding, which is the main reason i stopped playing.
First few legendarys were still nice, but few hours later my chest spilled over with useless legendarys.
Hardcore is a nogo until the servers don’t cause me to die 5x a day.
I do not really see the problem with that?
I mean sure, it would be nice if i would not play 20h a season, but 50h. But apart from getting too many usefull items too fast, the game is fine.
I’ll come out and say it. Most people quit Diablo when Rifts came out and they removed trading. Rifts weren’t good.
I do agree here. D4 has no economy and without that there is no game. A dopamine hit happens when you find an item of “VALUE” that other players want. You then can trade that item for things you want.
This is why games like D2 and PoE are extremely popular. You find that ultra rare item that has value to trade. ARPGs are loot hunting trading games. It’s just not exciting in D4 because items have no value since we have no open trade.
I would support this ONLY if there were no timer requirement (like D3 rifts had). I absolutely hated trying to beat a clock.
But yes, I’ve cleared a good number of dungeons on normal (for reknown and aspects) and only done about 20 NM’s, but the multi-phase aspect of these dungeons is already getting old. Mix it up a bit!
Sometimes we have to put a stone on a pedestal, and sometimes, we just have to kill ~60% of the monsters on a level then find the doorway/portal to the next level of the dungeon. I miss the exploration aspect of D2 dungeons, and the ability to “farm” a specific boss. Sad that they didn’t understand this aspect of what players liked in the Diablo franchise.
I have been trying to figure this out myself. I do not know if it is because we are older. Is the franchise too saturated? Are we just burnt out from so many hours of d3? I remember always having the desire to log in and play D3. It was the loot grind for that next item to finish a build or push GR. While that did eventually after years lose its appeal, it still had that Diablo feel that enticed me to log in and play. This game visually and mechanically is great. It is missing something that I just cannot pinpoint. Maybe it is the open world that deviated from previous installments or the lack of the social aspect of joining a pub game. Even seeing the toxic world chat just made you feel immersed in a social environment. There are just elements that are missing that create that nostalgic Diablo feel that we are accustomed to and expect. We want this to be the Diablo we desire but seems it is just not meeting expectations.
Could always take class As instead if it’s the hit you want. Cheaper
I think the items suck. Nothing is interesting. No chase items like D2.
