can confirm. using a vpn resolved the issue. played for over an hour and no more freezing. but because I’m using a vpn (I have a surfshark subscription) i now have latency and stutter issues. sad because even a paid vpn account has latency issues. unfortunately also, I can’t try installing the high res texture pack because my laptop has limited space and I also use this for work
I feel you, sadly I did not continue my VPN subscription since 2023, and have to rely on monthly 10GB free with limited options VPN.
its weird tho, if it is really connection issue and not Blizzard messing up the backend. why happened to so many people around the same time when updates release, and they probably uses different ISP also.
lets see if 2.0.3 fixes this tomorrow.

You are definitely not the only one experiencing this.
This game has become unplayable for me too. Every, EVERY ineraction with User Interface causes the game to freeze for at least 10-15 seconds. Every change of settings in menu - press Apply - same!

I’ll also report back and test after 2.0.3 releases. Hopefully things get fixed. For reference I live in the Philippines and my ISP is Globe telecom

I was really hoping 2.0.3 will resolve this, but its not. should I tried to download hi-res pack? 65GB extra size for something I don’t even use is too much I think. but the game is not playable for me.
even if I use VPN, there is still latency issue.

but again, VPN creates latency and cause movement lags and inputs delay.

funny thing is, when connected to VPN, i tried to open the link on the download request, its 2xx MB in size, I guess it is the hi-res pack for a component. I guess downloading those in installer will temporarily fix my issue.

Same issue here, 10-30 seconds timeout when interacting with any npc/portal/pit/paragon/esc option. This happens after they implemented backend log, please review
i am using windscribe, but quit subscription last year. their free plan only give us allowance of 10GB a month.
btw,
downloading the hi-res pack does fix the issue. if you have unlimited data plan and spare SSD space, i suggest to download it, while waiting for the resolution. i hope it also fixes the freeze for you.
