yeah i think d4 need to have a chat with nvidia. Im on 561.09 anything newer and the game spazzes out havent had any freezes or lock ups.
He can update us with a general idea on what they are thinking about or working on or even…Hey guys sorry we messed up we won’t know anything until 10 weeks from now is better than ignoring the elephant in the room.
And waiting it out should not even be an option if the patch was properly planned and proper Change Management procedures were in place at Blizzard.

I have crashed so many times the last 2 days. Always first few hit on the mobs anywhere, Undercity, Pits, NMD, Hordes… Im starting to fight, and boom, its gone with a fenris box on my desktop. Fn annoying.

We have another client patch out on PC tonight that should help out with some stability issues beyond the disabling of DLSS from yesterday.
This will hit console tomorrow as well. Keep us updated on how things are going. I appreciate everyone’s patience on this.

Great! no crash for me after updating.
If you would be more transparent with us then there may be measures that we (the users/paying consumers) can possibly take on our ends to further (temporarily) alleviate some issues while your team continues investigation and testing. People today are far more tech savvy than they once were. In fact there are people in this very forum with the experience and intelligence to actually help resolve the constant issues your team is running into. However, at the very least disclosing that information to us and being transparent gives US the option to do our own research and find workarounds until you have fully identified and fixed the problem.

3 crash since the update

After the update, crashed to desktop about two minutes into a nightmare dungeon. I’ve crashed more in the last two days than I have in the last two months

You forced the client update causing most people to crash. More hardcore players lost their characters (I am not one but I am sympathizing).
YOU ARE DOING EVERYTHING THE WRONG WAY.

So this client patch force closed my game while i was bossing without any notice. I play hardcore, character is dead because of this, countless hours since start of season wasted, it’s season ending for me.
Pez, you have to at least acknowledge this issue and provide us some update/support, rollback or whatever. This is beyond unacceptable.

Hi Pez,
I had 3 crashes in a very short time today before this client patch. One of them was also followed by a BSOD with reboot. I have never had this in any other game and all stress tests run without any problems.
That’s why I’d like more details. Could Diablo 4 actually trigger a BSOD when the system is otherwise stable? And if so, why? What was/is the problem?
More transparency would be really helpful for all of us. Thx

We’re talking about a branch from a Gaming Franchise, not some politically armed corporate platform. What of anything from Pez’s statements have to go through “legal” for? He posts updates on his X (twitter) more so than here on this forum.
Truth of the matter is, nobody knows what his job entails so pretending like you do is hilarious. What we do know is his job title is Community Manager.
Do not ask Blizzard if their product can cause a BSOD. Neither should you ask the majority of this community. Both are misinformed and will tell you it’s not possible, that a BSOD is a clear sign of OS or Hardware failure.
This is and has always been a widely spread myth. A faulty application, including a game can definitely cause system instability to the point of causing a BSOD/system failure under the right conditions. This game is 100% causing that condition.
Does Windows have fail safes that are supposed to prevent this? Yes. Do they always function properly or catch every scenario? No.
Remember when New World literally burned a crap ton of newest gen GPUs to a crisp? And it turned out to be 100% their fault, that none of the hardware was faulty? (or even the same brand/manufacturer?)
If it also helps you, soooooooo many of us including myself have also received multiple BSODs ONLY while playing THIS GAME.

I’ve crashed in the pit… 3 times today… maybe its the pit…
This is really getting stupid.
They should really turn off the need to reverify the 100gb client on steam every time they crash. That’s not acceptable.
Can we get DLSS back? Thx? Not everyone is a sponsored streamer with 4090 not giving a damn.

Frame Gen has been removed for months and months. Now DLSS. These are features that were Advertised as included with the product.

Errr…I’m an HC player and I just lost my char of more than 25 hours playing…I can do nothing when the game closed with a pop-up error notice…
