BG3 has sucked a big portion of player base away. Not too long ago there were 50k+ watching D4 on twitch. That number now hovers around 10k. Blizzard is lucky in that BG3 doesn’t launch on PS5 for a couple more weeks and until 2024 on Xbox. Just think how crushed D4 would have been otherwise, although it’s massively bad as it is.
Probably, but my heart wants to say no. This game is ZERO fun. All of my friends quit. I held onto hoping it would get better quick. I rolled barb because I want to play the class I want to play, not the one that preforms the best. I was hoping I’d get rewarded for staying with Barb when it gets fixed…and was so underwhelmed by the patch notes. This dev team is terrible. I do not want to play an MMO. If I still wanted to play an MMO, I would still play WoW (GAG). This company will never get another penny from me. I just can’t believe how botched this launch was. I was so convinced they would have learned from the past but they took NOTHING from Diablo 3.

*No, I don’t mean nerf barbs so that is is 50x lower… but this is honestly what I expect will continue to happen. More nerfs with “buffs” to inconsequential aspects/abilities.
Literally just can’t enjoy the game knowing it will be that much harder for me simply for my character choice and a dev team that won’t solve this very easy so solve problem.

I will def. play barb again after the patch. Thinking double swing, charge, frenzy, leap, 2 utilties (whatever works).
IN THE MEANTIME, I’ve been playing rogue. It seems rogue is so good that even I can make up a build, literally knowing nothing about the class, pick powers that look neat on paper and it crushes the content. No research, just building trees as I go, lol.
HOPEFULLY, we will be able to do that with barbs soon too, because sandbox gameplay is very fun.
Why should anyone return? Because of 3 more rage from a basic attack?

Better random buff some aspects that dont work in any build. But give them like 30% more dmg, so it’s safe its still completly wasted.

With the only viable endgame barb builds requiring seasonal content (mostly barber hearts), I had very little drive to play, and I’ve been playing other games for a week and change. Add the joke that are the barb “buffs” in the next patch (which do nothing to solve the barb issues in endgame), and while I may test out how things shake up with berserk ripping working again, I don’t have any hopes that this will change. I am not going to uninstall or anything like that, the core loop of the game is still rather fun to me, but it’s clear the balance isn’t there at all, and until that changes, my motivation to play is little.

Winback is a legitimate business strategy in general. I just don’t understand the application to a game where you get 99% of LTV in first transaction.

Nope. Came back to look at patch notes before live tomorrow, and looks they nothing has changed, except for barb going from 4th worst class to the worst class.
Too many good games out right now to waste time playing something that will ultimately be gimped and not very fun. Until devs play Barb past level 50 and make meaningful buffs that increase the class fun, will not be touching 1.1.1
Time to boot up Baldurs Gate 3, at least barbs in that game do good damage

I’m having WAAAYYYY more fun playing BG3 than Diablo iv. I’m even having much more fun even creating new characters and watching playthroughs of BG3 than ACTUALLY playing Diablo iv… so go figure

This patch isnt enough to bring me back. The change to my magnum opus dual weild ww barb just made him even weaker than before. Pretty sure ww barb has only gotten weaker since launch. Good job pushing me towards other games acti blizz.
Why change a stat that gives me damage all the time to a stat that givea me damage on a 30% proc or a glyph that has a 3 sec uptime and a 17 second downtime.
In its current state d4 is anti fun. Big time buyers remorse.

Don’t forget that the worst part of WW Barb, having to deal with the end of dungeon boss without any density, just became even worse since they doubled the health of the bosses.

Remnant 2 has taken me away from d4 100%. A complete game that isnt a shill for skins and passes is a breath of fresh air.

The “buff barbs” patch is an insult to a normal human being’s intellect. Here, 2 more fury to your fury generator, there removed cdr to rapture (which is bugged anyway) to your unique so that we can laugh at you barb’s pitiful faces.
Then we will go buff every other classes including sorc so that you barbs can get out of our uncaring faces after we have insulted your intellect. Thanks for your money by the way

Unfortunately, I don’t see a single reason why any main barb player that quit would ever rejoin after this mess of a patch. Like mentioned up here, it’s an insult to anyone with half a brain normally enjoying barbs.

No. Because this new patch doesn’t do anything worth coming back for. Builds will still be slow and annoying and so will all the other mechanics. This game literally needs REAPER OF SOULS update like D3 did.
