I don’t understand you guys, the game is essentially the same. Class balance, pretty much the same, obviusly there is your typical plus 50%(x) there your minus 50%(x) here or what ever. Actitivities also the same. Itemization the same too.
So there is no fundamental change in how the game works to justify a slower progression.
I think this is because the game is built, the fundation of the game systems, like an arcade arpg and a very simple at that so whenever they try to push a more slow/difficult gameplay it simply doesn’t work, the game is not built for it.
So to the people that want a slower progression you just want that for the sake of it? wouldn’t you want blizzard to add something extra to the leveling and progression experience?
Like what? Yes like what?
ThumbsUpEmoji, bro. Exactly
It’ll take longer to level up. And then it’ll take longer to farm items. So exciting. That’s real endgame.
Don’t forget to look up meta builds, your home brewed builds will barely tickle the demons in T1.
What gets me is calling T4 aspirational; intended only for the leet 10% who want a real challenge…
They want a challenge.
They want slow, grindy, progression.
And the reward for this is access to the world tier with the most exp, gold, and best drop rates.
They want a slow grind to the fast bits, essentially.
The power balance of character and environment is out of whack in t4 for too many builds.
It’s boring.
There’s no motivation to develop character because there is no struggle to survive and thrive.
They addressed this is in the campfire too. Check it out.
So they can make a video about how super OP their build is before going back to playing some other game.
YES.
Kinda.
By the time you get to the fast bits, your gear will be so good that barely anything will be an upgrade.
Poor balancing aside leveling in season 7 was very fast and needed to be slowed a little bit honestly they added maybe 2 hours and t4 was basiclly free to get into which the highest difficulty in the game should not be
There has to be a fundamental change to the game systems to prevent 80% of the players from getting to T4. Because we are at 50% now and they want it at 10%.
As i just said in another related post…
You can take 5 or 50 hours we still have the same end game loop"
It seems build variety will be meaningless compared to the boss powers. At p40 with a level 10 boss main power my damage is roughly double my damage without it. As I unlock more paragon and level up boss powers it appears to scale geometrically (or more). Trillions of damage with almost any class/build seems to be possible.
Of course Blizzard could massively nerf boss powers once the PTR goes live. Who knows what their knee jerk reaction will be? There’s no planning from them just spaghetti thrown at a wall and see what sticks.
There is no way they can leave the boss powers like this. Trillions of damage?
We want the leveling process to matter like every other arpg that made the genre popular… We want gearing and theorycrafting to be a thing while doing so, when you can max your level in one day we get to this point of just using whatever till max level because none of it matters till then. On the other side why do you want the journey over in a week when it’s a 3 month season?
But it doesn’t matter and it never will - your levelling build is not your endgame build - way waste the time repeating the same content we have done for the last 7 seasons just at a slower pace. You want it to slower, then take your time - I want to blast and have the diablo power fantasy. In season 7 we could both have that, in S8 (as it stands) that won’t be available to me, in fact, mots of us won’t even be able to get an end game build online.
You mean, the way it’s been for my Eternal Sorcerer for the last 10 levels?
Then blast away on T1. You have the same activities there.
Why waste time playing the game? Why even play the game if it’s just a waste of time to you? And if anything most builds are stronger then this season per the PTR… Have you even tried it before posting this? Boss powers are pretty op. Every season you are repeating the end game so if you don’t like repeating content why are you playing a seasonal game… That’s all there is lol
I’m fine with slower leveling the first char but what if they add option to skip to lvl 60 on alts.
Thank you!
Thats the entire point of arpgs. Theory crafting and gearing is suppose to be the main driver of these games.
To the OP, there are already plenty of activities in the game: nmd, cellars, strongholds, infernal hords, quests, the pit, DC, seasonal activities, etc. Blizz can add 5 more activities but if leveling remains trivial, none of that will matter.
