Focus on group play is a mistake

Pointless? I pinpoint the problem with PoE when it dropped group play. It maybe doesn’t effect you but it does effect others and the whole game already. That is a lesson to learn for Blizzard and people like you.

Actually the is a major advantage to running Pits in a group. If you are playing solo, and the Pit boss one-shots you, you have to start over. You have to fight a completely refreshed Pit boss. If you are playing in a group and the boss one-shots you, the batttle continues, your teammate can revive you and as long as time remains you can finish the fight. Playing in a group can mean finishing higher level pits than solo if all the players are at the same level.

Come on dude, you’re not seriously trying to tell me that group play is a thing POE is good at, are you? You can’t be serious about this.

POE has absolutely horrible group play. The group play is pretty much the very last reason why the game is one of the best hack and slays of all time.

Don’t change my words, i said it had group plays but it dropped it off, that the main reason my friend group quit, and the data show a hulk chunk of player quit from then. It is not best part, but it is necessary for many people when playing an ONLINE game.
And by far, PoE may has most complex mechanic in the whole general but Hack and Slash? Are you really play it? Tell me 1 single end game build that can Hack and Slash or even 1 build that not spam 1023010310 times on the whole screen?

Okay, so you clear a pit 5 levels higher than you could do solo in the same amount of time with 3/4 people getting half the masterworking materials and a 0% chance of a stone drop. That still isn’t worth it for most of the group in terms of efficiency, and unless you’re able to clear pits at least 60% faster with a party of 4 rotating openings than you can running them solo, you won’t even come even on the number of masterworking materials that you’d otherwise get running them by yourself.

I’ll admit that I didn’t consider the actual drops themselves for my argument about the pit, but that’s because 99.9% of the loot in this game is lackluster. The one time you get an item with 1 or more useful * rolls (mine are always life per hit or life per second) you have to hope that you don’t brick it at the blacksmith. If you only care about loot and not about masterworking materials or stones then you should always run the pit in a group if the group can clear faster than you can solo.

I don’t really see a point to pushing past pit 100 though unless you somehow get more loot drops off of the boss or have a higher chance of getting * gear to drop, which likely isn’t the case knowing Blizzard.

And what about people not in “those” type of clans? the casual or even solo style player will find much less enjoyment in this as can be witnessed in any random event around the map be it zone, world, or seasonal.
We used to have co-op games, now they’re all just multiplayer… and yes, there IS a difference.
Co-op = Teamwork (unless you’re doing it wrong)
Multiplayer = Every man for himself, or as I like to call it “running around like chickens with their head cut off” - which COULD be entertaining if it didn’t look like a bunch of Stuart’s with cookie cutter builds running around just “look what I can do”
NB4 any toxicity - I already turn off cross-play from time to time to reduce the “noise”, and I am a big supporter of an “offline” or solo play mode (I can already hear keyboard masters typing “It’ll never happen…” durrrrr - Doesn’t mean I can’t still lobby for it.

The most popular builds in POE have always been one-button builds, because that’s what most people like (like Tornado Shot, Lightning Arror, many Coc builds and so on… ). In most build guides, it’s even explicitly mentioned as a downside if the build has to use 2 buttons - as it is the case in the current meta with Detonate Dead or ed/contaigon in the past.

Complex mechanics definitely do not necessarily lead to complex gameplay.

But now we’re getting into a discussion that shouldn’t be the point of the discussion . That’s exactly why I told you that cross-comparisons are simply a distraction and have no added value for the initial discussion.

There is zero focus on group play. Look at pits other party members get half materials and zero stygian stones. I call this biggest BS in any multiplayer game ever made.

I have rl friend to play D4 with but we play pits solo, how stupid is it?

The core feature for the upcoming addon is exclusively focussed on group play. No additional single-player endgame content has been announced. The addon is therefore clearly focussed on group play.

If it will requires 4 party member or 8 it will sux and its made only for streames. I dont have 3 nor 7 friends and I doubt they will add any social automatchmaking which would sux as well anyway to get 7x useless incinerate sorceress.

I am also against it.

They will add an autogroup feature like in wow for sure. I highly expect that this content will be very accessible, very easy and very boring.

I agree, I play Diablo exclusively for solo content. I hope Blizzard doesn’t turn this game into Destiny or WoW, that’s not what I came to this game for. Add more solo content, if the lack of content is the issue, but don’t change this game into some hybrid MMO.
