Fair Price for a lot of added content

I’m an RPG player. Any game with RPG elements there’s a chance I’ll enjoy it.

I bought Diablo 4 despite my trust in Bliz to create competition in the ARPG genre. I don’t think they’ve really done enough with my or anyone else’s money to do that. They’re just pocketing it. As for PoE2. You’ll be sad to know it’s open early access in a few months.

Likely why they’re pulling this expansion risking dividing what community they have.

In my area PC releases of top end games were $40 while anything after new release was less. I’m looking at boxes right now. Diablo 1 $40, Descent 2, $40, Ultima Online $35, Doom 2 $40. At that time consoles were asking for up to $70 easy for new releases.

OP is only considering inflation and not homogenization of gaming between platforms.

Quality games still release for $40 so one can conclude inflation isn’t the primary factor.

This was the underlining point I was trying to get at, but apparently did not illustrate well. We’re PREPAYING a lot of money for a product that in all likelihood will only be ~30% complete on launch. That is not acceptable. It is essentially Blizzard solely operating in bad faith.

I will likely be waiting until half way through the first season. I agree with you, they have not been trustworthy for at least a decade now.

The problems is not the price, they wont add that much, maybe 1 generic paragon board, a half working new class, after 6 years only 1/8 of skills are actually playable?.. even less. If you still think game its going to be better ill watch most of you crying in forums and media about how terrible is the coop garbo, how bad is the spiriturd, the dissapointment is general even now, even casuals with no game criteria don’t like the game, diehard arog games find it terrible. Devs thinknthey hold the key of making the game good.

In order to make anything good, they need to fix the math in. The game, just doesn’t work. Game is f tier.

Even if the expansion was 10 I wouldn’t buy it, rather eat some food…

if the level cap increases or if items go beyond 925, its actually a removal of content in a way as that would mean everything you/i/everyone has been grinding for won’t matter.

Hope that isn’t the case. At least when D2 expansion came out everything you put time into was still relevant. Obviously wouldn’t matter in a new season, but that would affect everything in eternal, but there’s no leveling leaderboards in these seasons like D2 anyway so fully resetting for these seasons themselves has always been a bit of a mystery. With leveling to 100 taking a couple of days, why do we even reset for seasons at this point? - Sorry, went off-track here.

Do we know if level is higher or if items go beyond 925 in this expansion?

Well, there’s no mention of level increase on the expansion page, only the addition of paragon boards and such. I’m leaning toward level is not going past 100, but that probably means we’ll be doing something identical to leveling only earning paragon points, not levels.

I agree with this, but I also think the item power will increase, if not then there will be no sense of ‘power creep’ and people will likely request a refund of their purchase out of grief.

yeah people always bring up the price only without bringing up how much content was in it.

one completely revamp the entire game, this one gave us 1 class, 1 zone, and finally something that should have been here at launch aka mercs, i dont even care much about pets honestly but mercs should have been here on day 1.

Yep, they also got the price wrong. LoD was $30 not $40, you got way more content and OP for whatever reason thinks Base Game Updates are somehow related to the price of VoH.

The only real things you are getting from VoH are 1 Class, A Dog, New Act/Area, FORCED GROUP Raid. That’s it. Mercenaries should have been in the base game from the start. It’s amazing to me that they took the EA route and stripped content and tried to repackage it just to try and justify a $40 price point.

I hope the new Class is worth it, otherwise if this is the state of future expansions as well, They surely will not be in my library. It’s not like I will be missing out on anything for real.

How are pets considered Diablo “content”? You only need one pet to pick up your crap and it’s given to you already.

Other than that:

1 + 2: no point even mentioning, this is to be expected
3. Features we had in D2 and D3, D3’s being fully voiced and having individual phenomenal questlines (some of the best in the game’s story).
4. What’s the difference between this and a boss, other than having trash mobs…?
5. No point even mentioning to be expected.
6. See 5.
7. See 5.
8. See 5.

So other than points…well nothing really. They should give us back money for continuing to play this after the disgusting launch that was both D3 (pre-2.0) and this (still in beta atm).

I swear modern gamers are the definition of “well it tastes like st but at least it’s not dihharea”.

People like OP are the only ones keeping this title alive anymore. They are too busy milking the console/mobile gamers with flashy overpriced cosmetics in a game costing $70 that is still in Beta.

Have issue with the title. You have to have content to begin with to have “added” content.

how many hours playtime do you have in diablo 4?

1200 hours not the point though. Which is not much for a year into d4 for me and most of that out of the sheer lack of good game in the past year. I mean i put 3k hours into dragons age inquisition multiplayer and that was pretty much run in kill boss and do it again.

oh but it is. how can one spend 1.200 hours on a game that has no content?

i mean people wonder why they arent being taken serious. Id say a good first step is to stop being hyperbolic.

i mean assuming you played daily, thats 3.29 hours per day you played diablo 4 in 365 days, id say thats quite a lot, dont you think?

No. Not at all. You know how much ive spent on games in the past year because d4 did not have anything to do except for a few weeks every season?
And how many of those 1200 hours was not afk in town searching for something else to play after the 3rd day after season starts?
I mean i played and cleared V Rising, Welcome to Paradize, Battle Chasers, tried a couple demos trails of something and something else in just the past week as well as put a few hours into d4.
Oh an i am not the only one. Got cerrigar. Watch how many people log on run a pit or two then afk out of the game in like 20 minutes.

Lol the CJ forum squad is really getting their moneys worth on the kneepads they bought on Amazon.

You’re a very good boy OP! Have a free ticket into the Cosby suite! You’ve earned it

i mean, we can agree to disagree i guess. personally i think saying d4 has no content while also having invested 1.2k hours is ridiculous.

suprised this thread is still going anyway. I wonder how many “fellinators” bought the expansion already.

Not me for sure. They going to have to show they willing to stop punishing group and reward for difficulty before i buy. You know like every other multiplayer game. They keep listening to solo casuals they can keep this failing game.
