I have always known that I play the right way, and that makes me happy. But recently it has come to my attention that some people out there not only want to play the wrong way, but that Blizzard actually lets them get away with it.
This is extremely difficult for me to reconcile with my “The world is MY movie” world view. I have drifted from confusion to rage to feelings of powerlessness because I don’t know how I can make everyone do it right. I keep telling blizzard they have to make the game so people can only play it the right way, but they ignore me.
I am not sure how to cope with this dilemma. Any advice greatly appreciated.
My brother in Lilith, I beseech thee to stay strong amongst the doubters and haters. Those who would besmirch and tarnish what we have fought for this past year. We will overcome this injustice, why? Because we are right and they are wrong? NO! Because we have purchased the expansion and have thus paved the way for everyone to follow in our wake into a new beginning!
We must rise up as a collective, a sanctuary, if you will, for the people to follow and feel welcomed to our way of play, for it is the only way to play! Let not the developers of D4, Johanna Faries (president of Blizzard), or Satya Nadella (CEO of microsoft) himself lead you astray. It is only once everyone has accepted Lilith into their hearts, that they will truly play the just and right way.
May your sins be plenty, and your prejudice be swift.

I’m finding it kind of funny that the only people complaining about how others play are those insulting meta players. A lot of projection going on here.
So what if they enjoy the game by playing efficiently? Why are they living rent-free in your head?
And where does all this leave the rest of us, brother? This, unholy crusade of the proclaimed righteous ones amongst us. At what cost and to what extremes you’re all willing to endure in your futile pursuit for your proclaimed salvation?
Sanctuary will fall, as all the shepherds (Blizzard) care for is their bellies to be full. One by one we’ll all fall. Divided and jaded from what we once called home. Only few will remain.
Now Exiled from Sanctuary, we’ll let the rest of you create your new beginning, as we create ours in new lands. Far away from the greedy shepherds that brought damnation to Sanctuary, and us all.
But spoiler alert, NO ONE is the “Main Character”. You’re just a brain with a meat sack wondering about in the abyss with a bunch of other brains with meat sacks.
My initial reaction to this was that defining the right way to play completely contradicted the spirit of the post in all of its (self-proclaimed) Satirical, ironic, sarcastic glory. but wanting to keep the 666 post count up there for a while gave me time to think and I guess I am willing to attempt it after all here goes:
“Right Way to Play Diablo IV” - Any way that gives you what you want from the game that is possible in the confines of the game mechanics and does not violate the TOS
I think a lack of immediate responses from me may be just what this thread needed
I hope people get some amusement from this, and maybe even some food for thought about how we approach the game and our fellow demon slayers!
I almost completely forgot to reply to this one. I’m not sure if you are saying I am insulting “Meta players” and projecting and having people rent free etc…
I played Immortal Firebolt in S4 and LS in S5 and will likely play Constellation in s6 All these along-side of various other builds I copy/tweak/invent from scratch. So if you think I have insulted “Meta players” you may have misunderstood something I posted?

Expressing discontent with something in the game hopefully in a constructive way and providing what thoughts I have on possible alternative approaches
Calling out trolls and hypocrites
Trying to amuse/entertain/provoke thought
Clarify or correct some objectively bad info
If this is not aimed at me and you were just chiming in with your 2 cents, well then I am the one who misunderstood and its all good
At first I was going to respond to this, but by the end I realized you where implementing a form of reverse psychology to invoke reactions to the sometimes misguided masses. No, there is no right way to play the game, but we still have plenty of sites that show us the most efficient way to gather resources and defeat more difficult bosses. Meta play is a thing in all games and will be going forward. But that does not mean that there are not alternatives to meta that are even more fun to play. Efficiency does not equal fun in all cases. Play the way you want at a pace you like. This will become very important in the expansion, as the higher torment levels are going to be much more difficult for casual players than previously implemented in this game. They seem to want to make it so it is more challenging, but not that much more rewarding so players are not compelled to play at that level. We will see tomorrow if that works out as planned.
The point was to use satire to highlight the ridiculous nature of so many self-centric posts about how people think other people should play. Some people will pick that up straight away… some won’t
That doesn’t change that the physical form is a brain in a meat sack, if we’re denied further awareness of what/who is controlling then that can’t be proven one way or the other.
I think of it like that Trentino movie in the hotel. There are a few billion different movies happening all at the same time and the storylines frequently cross over each other. For me the real question is how aware are most of us of the other movies and how do we or don’t we consider them when directing our own
