Well unfortunately I am not surprised at all too many QoL things missing and features not working are in Blizzard games these last 5-6 years everywhere.
And as such its generally issue of management a.k.a the stock people who care only for next QA earning and nothing more. 0 long term vision.
I mean why should they care when they get golden parachute anyway and move on to ruin something else.
Yeah. But I do get where he is coming from. If there is untruthfulness in the article then Blizzard can take that to the court. Until then, I find this article quite accurate to the current state of the game as well as giving me the glimpse of insiderâs perspective.
The game is absolutely less good because of missing QoL systems (mostly social ones).
But the game is literally bad because of bad management and pressure to release a product way to early
This broke core systems like itemization, level scaling, economy, characters (general), builds, balance, monsters, bosses and so on and so on.
Hell, even seasons are lacking because of it.
These parts will never be fixed with seasons or time.
Only 2 things can fix this.
Sad truth, the more we support the game, the more we endorse these development malpractices.
Best way for players to âcommunicate corporatelyâ, is to buy share instead of preorder. If you agree with the game, buy more, if you dislike a patch, sell.
As users, you would be better position to predict the reactions instead of investors who only look at report and news after the fact.
Sorry but it has become very clear that we as players can not rally and protest on the devs behalf, we never get listened to anyway, not by the management or by the devs.
Itâs clear that the devs need to start rallying and protesting on the players behalf instead of walking on eggshells and refusing to rock the boat in any way shape or form, change is going to have to come from the inside.
As much I like the idea, I donât think having a stake in Acti-Blizz would have an effect to the decision making of the operation. Having every gamer on-board would ridiculously overprice the stock price and we still wouldnât beat the major shareholders.
So, it would only incubate more volatile prices â bullish prior to launch, then bearish post release. Those wolves of wallstreet would love to manipulate the gamers. This wouldnât be a great strategy.
We got to deal with people who are so addicted to gaming, they will make any excuse for a company.
And mind you I understand. The state of the world, and all that. Needing gaming as a escape, and enjoyment to balance off your life is fine, but because we gave Blizzard so many passes, we forgot how good games can really be.
If âbreaking freeâ from Diablo III in a manner that is frankly imperceptible is too onerous a task for these people just what is going on? This stumps me. This person is supposed to be a âlongtime Blizzard employeeâ as well. Is there some sort of overwhelming sophistry going on in their process to the point where they canât do much, let alone go in a different direction? Strange. I remember one of the people they trot out for the campfire chats bringing up some industry âjargonâ. The best way to spin it is theyâve gone too âprofessionalâ. The worst way to spin it is theyâve got a bunch of pretentious dimwits trying to make games. Mightâve picked the wrong job.
This game was ruined by greed. Worst part is, those greedy people still succeeded.
If they released an unfinished D5 ten years from now it would probably succeed again.
What I really want is the suffering and financial ruin they deserve. They should not have been paid hundreds of millions of dollars for what they made. Itâs really up to us as the consumers to reject this type of game âdevelopmentâ.
