I mean, the fact that there is division in the opinion on the forums, where the highly invested players congregate, is good indication that less invested players are even less interested in perpetually rebuilding their characters. It’s just logic, anyway, it seems that they are scrambling to live up to their earnings projections. I predict that we will see an industry shift.
Likely most people are tired of the old and tedious seasonal model.

While logic is one thing, and in this matter it’s more assumption than fact. Untill I see cold hard data, by a thorough research.
only because you want to start the season with lvl 100 character?
no, thank you, I like to level.
You are right I am merely speculating based on logic and accrued interpretation of general player sentiment. I do think that it is not far off the mark and that it took them by surprise that audiences wanted a more modern experience.
Maybe this wouldn’t be the case if seasons turned out to be highly rich experiences. Alas the motivation is snuffed by lack of any meaningful, competitive gameplay elements.
Also, the game is just too damn easy, the only challenges are at the end of the leveling process. You can’t retain interest in something so easy and non-stimulating.
The game was fine for a single playthrough. I got my money’s worth out of it. The seasonal aspect is just one more strike against the game’s potential.
