Eternal Realm so

The only reason to play Eternal if any is when a game enters maintenance mode. (No further seasons and updates will be made). And you lose the incentive to repeat previous content. Until then Season is the interesting part because content and different things are coming. Of course the requirement to like the game in the first place still stands.

Seasons aren’t motivating you to play if you don’t like the game in the first place. Many people get into this trap.

But if you have hopes or interested surely seasons are the place.

There isn’t, that’s why I don’t play. If eternal got content updates I’d probably hop back on.

And resources and development time.

It has everything less the current seasonal mechanic, so it’s best for when you just want to hang out and experiment with new gear and builds you haven’t tested or when you want to get your eternal chars more maxed out. I always keep a full stable of maxed characters for the purpose of experimentation or when I just want to be strong already instead of messing with my character that I’m trying to get back to that point in season.

I’d say that right now it doesn’t do as much for you to play an eternal realm character because the game just came out and most people don’t even have more than one or two classes at endgame, but in a year or two it’ll make a lot more sense to switch between seasonal and eternal depending on what you want to do.

Only reason I’ll play Eternal Realm characters are the following:

  1. I really want to finish something on a character

  2. I didn’t want to mess with the seasonal theme in the game and so when I play that time period I’ll play Eternal

  3. (Does not apply to D4 yet) my HC character died very late ino the season so if I want to play I have my eternal characters to play

The bigger question is what is the point of playing Seasons.

I think it’s for the Rogue-like fans who enjoy repeating everything from scratch every day.

Eternal realm exists for those too stubborn to play the way the game is intended.

lol all these casual new arpg kids on the diablo 4 forums. look at poe every time a season drops, poe would literally be a completely dead game if there was no seasons, one the best things of an arpg is starting a new seasonal character at level 1 with everyone else and racing/competing on ladder, and sorry to say but seasons aren’t going anywhere in the arpg genre

In fully finished games, typically there is this thing called “end game content” that can keep you busy and thrilled to play because it is new, rewarding, and also challenging at times.

This is not one of those games.

This is absolutely false. Blizzard posted that only 6% of the player base played non season in D3. It was also super obvious to the players as seeing people in chat without the little green leaf was very uncommon. Your statement is so far off base, can’t believe you actually think that’s accurate.

Eternal is the place where seasonal toons go to retire and exists purely as a way to give players the choice of whether or not to delete their toons before they move on to the next season.

Can we have the season content added to eternal after the seasons? It will be some motivation and if the things are blown away after the seasons, will be a good add

I don’t know if that’s true. Warframe just does big content updates to the “eternal realm” and it’s doing better than ever with that model.

the eternal realm doesn’t have hearts so the season is the casual option. idk who pvps in this game so idk if they’d prefer eternal for some reason.

wtf is a warframe and why does that have anything to do with the arpg genre?

“casual” doesn’t have anything to do with difficulty in that regard

i meant purely in term of time spent in playing.

if you only play 1h a week for example or something

if you can afford playing enough to finish battlepass and every seasonal things by the time alloted between the beggining of the season and it’s end : play season

if you can’t : play eternal.

playing casually =/= being noob
it mean simply not being able or not wanting to play a lot.

Your character doesn’t “go away” if you play seasonal either. What was your point?

You been living under a rock dude?

I missed that memo about d4 i guess; thats d4 is only made for seasonal players.

I don’t play a large variety of games bro, help me out about this warframe and what the relevance is to arpgs
