Reading the forum it is common opinion that some legacy mythic items will still be usable while others will simply be salvaged for sparks.
In particular it is argued that defensive items (helmets, chest) and jewelry can still be used (at least up to a certain point) while it would not make much sense to keep weapons given the important downgrade in their main statistic (DPS).
I think this is a mistake and that the situation is exactly the opposite. In fact, mythic weapons, unlike defensive items will not suffer (almost) any downgrade if these are not used for DPS but for other affixes.
For example a barbarian whose damage comes from 1H weapons will be able to equip the Grandfather without losing (almost) anything. Just as a barbarian whose damage is given by 2H weapons will be able to equip a Doombringer without losing (almost) anything.
Am I doing something wrong?

I think the problem is that the word “Legacy” is in the item description so they feel uncomfortable and annoyed when they see it…
Well yeah, if you don´t use that weapon to scale your dmg it will be good as new version.
Maybe the only thing which will be not perfect is the innate +% damage
I think it is additive bonus. It never had much value.
You can straigh up salvage uber weapons, other stuff like shako, sskies, tyrael’s could still be used at least to just blast to 60 and craft the new ones
I’m not salvaging any Ubers until the patch is live simply because they never refunded the sparks from s3 to eternal players
And then legacy ubers (Being lower power at 540) won’t give sparks anymore when salvaged after 2.0 goes live
It’s blizzard we are talking about, the only thing you can be sure of is that they will mess up, one way or another

If you’re using the weapons as a stat stick, you’ll be fine. Although I would hope that would be obvious to people.
Should also be noted that even if you’re using the weapon as your primary source for damage you’ll be fine up until 60, and probably up until you reach Torment 2. Although would definitely suggest upgrading to the 800 versions at your earliest convenience.
Someone who already has a build with uber uniques shouldn’t probably even consider anything under T4, just blast to 60, recraft uber weapons, do pit 65 and off you go in T4 now looking for other gear to swap and eventually recraft shako, sskies and so on…
At the very least, hang onto it while you level to 60 and hunt for a replacement. Or enough sparks to create a replacement.
Downgraded mythics should be good for a while before needing replacement.
I still have Legacy items from Season 1. Anyone who sells off their gear after a season end isn’t a Eternal Realm enjoyer. It’s just funny to see 540 + 25 item power on the PTR.

No worries here…in all my over 200 hours playing I’ve never seen one.
maybe if your a barb or rogue, but then again you could just craft new ones if you have the sparks
then better masterwork every mythic you got to 12/12 before season ends to make use every drop of juice it has.
later, compare these legacy mythic to season 6’s to decide whether salvage or not. newly crafted mythic will have guaranteed 1 GA which is not bad of the bargain.
Rng must hate you m8, i have roughly 300 hours on necro and sitting around 23 sparks, like 10 ubers in stash + the others equipped
Drop rate should be around 7.5% with tormented bosses, 1 every 13 runs…as far as i can tell drop rate it’s not that far off, at least for me…30 runs is almost always 2 mythics

If you are on eternal, don’t salve ANYTHING that you are using, until you have a replacement for it because getting a replacement ancenstral is not going to be easy. They are quite rare.
