I completed a campaign a multiple times and ONLY quests that really requires that you search for something are the drop item quests, that really need a little more time than usual. Never, ever had a problem with this quest. Every time when they updated the game there’s always that one quest they screw up. But they never screw up, let’s say store, so we can get a few free items because of the bug. Now, it really looks intentional…

happening to me as well, there seems to be other swarms around but they dont count towards the quest

Confirming this issue on Xbox — side quest swarms do not spawn in Shrouded Moors.

Can confirm (PC).

Tried to do this stupid side quest today, but no mobs spawn. Wasted time Wandering around for around 30 minutes and got nowhere. A couple of events spawned a handful, but not enough to complete the quest.

I ended up just abandoning it.

Same for me, on pc. I’ve been looking around this area for multiple days but no stinging swarms to speak of. This is some weak shiz. I just came back to Blizzard games since Diablo 3 and immediately encounter this and the wardrobe transmog bug. So lame. Really glad I got this game like 75% off.

Me too. Looked all over for them. Other quests of this nature will point out the relevant mobs with a pin (when you get close enough) and also red dots on the map. This quest never does this.

I did hear there is one place they spawn, around the entrance to something, but I can’t remember the name of the place. Will see if I can find the post again.

I’m having the same problem. I tried the trick mentioned by Jabohjah, but I’m not getting any of the Stinging Swarms yet, only firewalkers and other lycan types. I’ll keep trying.

Well after about 6-7 event spawns, I finally got one that had the Stinging Swarms…only got 12/75 so will have to try again later.

On PS5, still an issue. Been trying for 2 days and they won’t spawn. It’s been 2 days now. Just abandoning instead, very irritating.

PC player here, same issue. Enemies are not spawning and nothing helps

This is definitely the strategy. The best one to gain large numbers of the quest mob is the competition with the hunter in which you must kill more than them. I got 31 in one event. Next 2 times i got it not so lucky, the second time i only got 10, and the third time 0.

Aside from Varyana there is also the very rare occasion of mobs spawning outside of the quest area (not outside of the blue area but the “red” swamp area). I had at least 3 encounter of about 5 swarms around the quest village (forgot the name). Two where just outside the village in the north. One was west of the village. Might not be worth it, to try it that way though.
