The stinging swarms enemies are not spawning in the side quest Of Pests and Pestilence. I’ve abandoned the quest and re accepted and restarted the game with no luck.
Same issue on PC. Quest mobs not spawing.

Relogged,abandoned and picked up quest again.
No enemies for the quest spawns.

Same here. Searched every inch of the place multiple times, even circling back to it after doing other quests, and nothing. PC

You can complete the quest by doing the events in the area. its wildly inconsistent, and you don’t get a lot of them. but if you are dead set on doing the quest, I am up to 61/75. it has taken me 15 levels of grinding events to get this far. I will not give up lol.

Same problem here as well, also on PC, wandered around for a good 20 minutes going over the entire area several times and see no quest mobs.

I solved the quest bug on the PS5 console. After exploring the entire map, it started counting insect kills the moment an event started near the Jalal’s Watch dungeon, just west of its entrance. It’s definitely a bug as well. But while Blizzard doesn’t fix this error, here’s an alternative to continue the game. Here’s a YouTube link showing the moment I enter the event and the counter starts. See you later, and I hope this helps! Note: For newbies… the event is a hunting contest with a spirit. If the event starts differently, just return to the city and go back to the location; the events will alternate.

Thank you for providing a workaround. Varyana’s event spawns in the northeast edge of the region and, with fast kills, I was able to get 72/75 just from that.
EDIT: I was overly optimistic about this. I did 15 events after that, going to all 3 event spawn points in the zones, and Varyana’s event is the only one that spawned wildlife and I only saw it that one time (due to the nature of mercenary events only sometimes spawning in place of the regular events). The non-mercenary events are bandits and werewolves. And events outside of the zone, even those that spawn wildlife, did not spawn Stinging Swarms.
However, I did get fortunate enough that an elite Thornbeast spawned Stinging Swarm minions that got me the last 3 that I needed. Such a hassle. There’s plenty of Fly Swarm mobs throughout the map, but Stinging Swarms seem to only spawn as secondary mobs.

Just adding this does not seem to be only a console bug, but PC as well. So a bug in general as I have the same issue and am on PC.

TY so much. I can confirm this works on PC as well. You’d be looking for the settling the score event. It seems to have a random number of stinging swarms, so it might take a while.

Same problem here in PC it says it’s supposed to be concentrated in the “Blood Vale” but I just spend 20min scanning every part of its time and again with no luck no even a single one.

I have tried to get this world event to spawn and all I get are the werewolf events.

How are you “going back to town” to reset this? Ive gone back to town multiple times, ive tried portaling, ive tried going to a whole other zone and walking all the way back. Sometimes it resets and sometimes I come back to the same scene I left.

I got it once last night, 55 kills, I got it once this afternoon….9 kills. I’m going to crash out.
Edit: Got it a third time, to absolutely zero spawns LOL.
