Enchanting Changes made reroll way worse imo

I think the re-roll costs are just to high… I play an average of 2/3h per day, depends on how I’m feeling when I drop off work. I consider myself a casual. I’m up to the point where I sell 99% of loot, and I also try and grab all the gold that drops in the content I’m doing.

I’m level 85, I’m currently sitting on 30M, because I spent around 60M enchanting a head and a pair of boots - and I didn’t get the stat I wanted in the boots.

To me this feels ridiculous as I know at this speed, I won’t be able to optimize my gear… And this is me not mentioning other stupid things like having 2 BiS rings, with just 1 re-roll needed, and the wrong fricking socket on them…

The way prices grow when re-rolling is too much, but that’s just my opinion…

Exponential increase after the first reroll is stupid, reroll cost jump up around 300-500% after the first reroll than it drop down abit but it not long until it jump to 200-300% increase again.

Diablo 3 gold cost for reroll increase about 10% each time you click but it not stack like 10>20>30 it more like 10>11>12 D3 also have 3 possible option to pick.

and did not have quadrillion options to roll

Agree with both your comments… Re-roll was bad before this ‘main stat removal’ but that was more manageable, now it’s just ludacris… I guess now it’s true RnG

Yeah, they lied to us.
They said they reduce the enchantment cost, but they removed some rerolling affixes after the patch, and all ends up being more expensive, even not possible, to roll what you need for your gears now.
I am giving up on enchantment now, simply, every time, I ran out of gold!

I’m getting close to giving up rerolling to. I’m not to worried because I’m still 85, so I have 15 levels to “try and farm” more gear. I’ll give it sometime as well once I reach 100 because at the end of the day this is an ARPG and grind/RnG is part of the game, but I won’t spend to much time on this, because I can’t grasp the chance of spending 60M on a single item, for possibly 10 items

They just want us to keep farming and filtering items, going to town, keep spending hours handling the many affixes. Then if you get a near perfect roll, enchanting likely kills it all. Either throw that gear away or spend hours farming gold and repeated town trips to sell rares.

Tedious.
Annoying.

And then when you get the perfect rolls, they nerf the value or change the meta.

Gear farming starts all over again

They created a bad solution to try to fix a major problem.

They seem to be very consistant at doing this.

Its called cutting corners.

Imagine I hoarded gold in between of lvl80 to lvl100 to be ready to respec… Once lvl100 I failed to receive usefull stats while enchating, so now I have lvl100 char still to respec, literally 0 Gold and similar amount of grinding for nothing else than for Gold in front of me… yet again… believe me, I have absolutelly no intention to go and grind again, not even 1 monster…

They literally created a “gold sink” in a game that does not have a player driven market/economy. This IP had arguably one of the most deterministic crafting systems, which it was noted for and people expected. Now it’s completely RnGeezus with a bunch more affixes that are so situational…trash.
They literally talked Kiss-Curse moments in the campfire chat. All they literally did here was say, “hey we hear you and are going to lower the cost of respec’ing skills/paragon…but you are now going to pay an obscene amount for crafting”.

Enchanting costs and the insane amount of useless affixes are hands down my least favorite part of the game.

The amount of Gold you have to farm just to roll as little as 6 or 7 times just for a chance to get a (typically) low roll for a USEFUL affix, let alone the the stat you actually WANT/NEED is a huge buzzkill.

Currently once you reach later game, they think it extends playtime, but ultimately it leads to player burnout.

They need to remove some of the useless/redundant affixes, drastically reduce enchanting costs after the first few (closer to D3 scaling costs), and streamline the whole process.

I currently have 1.4 Billion gold from a single sale.

I have an item rocking a reroll cost of 15M each. I havent noticed a dent. This is not a concern given the current inflation from exploits.

It’s called being hopelessly brain dead…, This dev team is beyond infuriating…

the enchanting change sucks: they made a terrible system even worse!

blah!

enchanting costs should be at least halved or more and or add a third option to the re-roll.

I don’t use exploits, so I couldn’t say.

I don’t sell items nor do I try do buy them, so I can’t tell how the market is, but I did read in the forums the duping exploit kind of messed that up to, like, items being sold for 160M are being sold for Billions, so.

Either way, both those factors do not matter nor are they related to how high re-roll is at the moment imo.

I like that you bring up the three options. I personally much preferred D3’s approach to having the third option taken up by “no-change,” as if I’d still use the item with a stat I didn’t really want rather than sell/salvage and wait for a better one. But the best part is when one of the two other stats are exactly the same as the original, so that essentially 2 of the 3 choices are “no-change.” Ouch :frowning:

I also wish we could have back the tooltip from D3 where we can see what possible affixes we can get when we reroll, and what the potential range of each is.

They also said we wouldn’t see huge numbers in part because monsters would have far larger armor values in end game. :frowning:

@OP

When you say wrong socket I can only assume you mean malignant sockets. I have a few awesome jewelry pieces set aside for post-season because I won’t use devious hearts. The fact that the season theme added another layer to the RNG is a little frustrating.

That’s all? I’m literally not joking when I say 99.9% of loot I salvage. I save about 0.1%, or 1 in 1,000 drops - and that’s being generous. And those are 2/4 items, so I can have a chance at rolling a 3/4. Didn’t get 3/4 natural drop the entire season after getting them in all slots for pre-S1.

Real life inflation comes to D4. Can’t escape inflation. Embrace it.
