Here’s why I’m never going to bother with Uber Lilith.
I love FF7 Remake and the DLC. I was at 99% for the trophy and that 1% was one fight, the Weiss fight. I tried it a hundred times, consulting guides and trying different strategies. At some point I found a guide that was a very solid way of defeating him and I watched that video, twice. I then got prepped in game and because you can essentially pause any time, I had the video right next to me and paused it at every move the person in the video did at the right time to make sure I was frame by frame as well as I could, copying their moves. I was able to do it. I got the 100%, but, it felt cheap and empty that this is what I had to do to achieve that goal. It actually devalued all the other goals I had achieved on my own merit.
I think a fight like Uber Lilith with the only actual strategy is to burn her so quickly you ignore mechanics because they are all one shots is just not worth spending any of my time and energy on. I gave her some tries when the game came out, before season one, and that was enough for me to tell me, this is not worth my time.
I don’t pay attention to trophies and platinums and achievements anymore. It’s better I don’t get to 99% just to learn I’m not a 1% player, which I already knew.
you forgot the mount^^ that was pretty much the only reason i went to her ^^
Theres really no need to get worked up over her really. as you say, the drops arent interesting which is a good thing. Its pretty much just the achievement and bragging rights.
Right but why would anyone care now that you took down Uber Lilith. It’s a questionable fight making the accomplishment questionable and people can always say, yeah but this blind person did it months ago.
With that said, Lilith is a very poorly designed encounter. It’s either you one-shot the boss before it can do anything, or you dodge a couple environmental one-shot mechanics while not caring about any normal damage that is happening at all.
Relying on nothing but poorly telegraphed one-shot mechanics for the only boss fight in the entire game is by no means a skill check, it’s lazy and uninspired design.
The second half of the fight is the same, environmental one-shots while the boss itself does nothing important.
Her spike mechanic is very poorly telegraphed. You see lines on the ground but that doesn’t tell you much. The first spike pops up right underneath where you are standing, so when the lines appear try to get behind her.
Are you playing hardcore? If not, I don’t see why you would not at least attempt it. She doesn’t require a bunch of farmed summoning items right? You can just go in and try to kill her. I just turned 95, also still working on glyphs (just have one at lvl 15) but I am still going to try her and see how I do. On HC, no freaking way, not until i am super overpowered.
Because I wouldn’t find it fun? I care nothing for the challenge of twitch-skills anymore, I’m a senior. I’d much rather out-smart the enemies with a build that reduces their threat to near zero.
Lilith has builds just to beat her, that is. Your build can destroy NM 100 and not hit her. What’s the point in that? A boss that to beat, you must use items to cause stagnation. Here come broken builds and kills with 10 seconds. Ridicules its mechanics. Like most D4 bosses. This is not challenging
There was a video of a naked barb juat sitting in the middle of the pvp area afk and marked. People were just going up to him to kill him and when they hit him they would die.
Wanted to try that thorns build, but i was too busy one buttoning it with bleed WW
