I haven’t had much problems OUTSIDE range things that scatter around. if you get a nice pack you can leap into (and if you go ground stomp) then smash I haven’t hit any issues and have tried GS in the build.
But again might need to kite some depending on the pack and casters/archers are always butt for barbs.
