Seriously. Title is the question.
I just bought the game and expansion on sale for Christmas. It is the longest, drawn out, most monotonous campaign I’ve ever seen. It just never ends.
Now after days of playing it, I’m at a point where Ormus just keeps sending me on endless errands.
- Run a dungeon, talk to Ormus.
- Clear another dungeon, talk to Ormus.
- Talk to a tree, talk to Ormus.
Does it in fact ever, ever end?
Oddly enough the VoH campaign is much shorter than the vanilla game. I hope you aren’t doing his random side quests and just sticking to the main story.

I keep the yellow one lit up. Two days ago I did mess up and it switched over to the blue ones. I ran those for hours until suddenly there were no more of them. That’s when I realized they weren’t part of the campaign at all.
So I switched back to the yellow one. Every once in a while, it will somehow automatically switch me to a blue one, but I switch it back to the yellow one.
This morning, the yellow one made me do a blue one. I had to go see the authority of the church, then go find some other guy that took me through two or three things and I got credit for that on the campaign when that was finished.
Now it’s just Ormus sending me to do things, all of them yellow, over and over again. I now have to get 10 things to give to the tree. Wondering how much crap after that there is.
It’s just ridiculous. It’s like errand after pointless errand long after everything in the story (which is completely ridiculous in and of itself, but I’ll let that go) is over and gone.

The story does drag at a few points, unfortunately. Luckily once you complete it, you can skip the story if you want to try out different characters. There will be an option to skip the story (and the expansion if completed) for future characters.
Thank merciful God. I mean really. Talk to Nayrelle. Talk to Nayrelle. Talk to Nayrelle. Walk 5 feet. Talk to Nayrelle. Talk to Nayrelle. Talk to Nayrell. Turn around and face East. Talk to Nayrelle…

Yea just a one-time thing. Similar to how you only have to do the renown rewards fully one time, or find the statues of Lilith or Tenants of Akarat. It won’t make you repeat those activities either.
Unless you start up a hardcore character then you’ll have to do it all over again.
No. It never ends. You will have to play it forever.

Well strap in chief there’s 87 acts to get through.
And the dancing competition epilogue where you learn that Diablo left hell to become a dancing instructor.
