can anyone explain why in a single player game we need to have dodge charges? Kind of ridiculous . Would be more fun if we could dodge as much as we wanted. Remove this restriction Blizz!
d4 isnt a single player game. people can play solo tho.
why shouldnt there be dodge charges, and what does that have to do with single player games or online multiplayer games?
It adds more strategy as you have to figure out if you want to use it to:
- Engage
- Avoid
- Utility (assuming Evade modifier)
The problem is that the screen is so cluttered in stuff and Boss attacks are spammed or the distance you need to travel is almost impossible to cover with Evade by itself.
Honestly, I would have to agree with you in D4 because of the poor Combat Mechanic design. This would be different if Blizzard gave everyone a 7th Skill Slot that was similar to Grim Dawn’s Rune System that provided a Movement mechanic (which there were a lot) and was also a craftable progressive item - similar to EQ Epics.
Huhhhhh. And was this class-restricted? Or every class? I stopped playing GD when I couldn’t find a weapon upgrade for 20+ levels, or else I wanted to continue… this system sounds interesting.
Back in D4 beginning before it was a D3 mobile arcade blaster there was actually combat in the game. I know, crazy right?

Runes were not Class Restricted but some had bonuses geared towards certain Classes. Blizzard could make these Class specific or agnostic. Here are some functions of the Runes you could choose from:
- Rift Tear (Blink)
- Charge
- Disengage
- Shield Slam
- Vanish
- Leap
- Rush

If Blizzard made evade unlimited, then they would make you use it a lot more. Our inventory management simulator would turn into an evade spam simulator.
Cant remember the last time i had to use the Evade button.
I dont think evade has Iframes.

Unlike d4 release, there is nothing to dodge… It would be used as mobility spam.
You can get multiple charges and ways to be able to spam it more frequently tho.
without them the mounts would turn from almost pointless to entirely pointless.
I use all 4 dodge charges of my necro to move forward when the horse is too slow
Speed the mount up or slow the roll down
(Wow, that’s a lot of interesting text on one item!) Can you tell me what’s the difference between the two concepts above (“target area” and “range”)… does target area mean the diameter of the effect on the ground at the target (which can be cast up to 18 meters away, in this case)?
