in d2 it’s expected to buy gear with rl money and or bot for it: they have been conditioned by blizzards refusal to do anything about it so this the norm to them and they expect the same thing in d4. no thanks.
I think part of the reason some D2 players so fervently hate D4 is personality disorder, autism, general mental health issues.

That’s because D3 promised on stuff it did not deliver. We were bamboozled. Least I made my 1500 from the RMAH before it got shut down. You probably are like 22 and don’t even know anything about it

I love D4 and have a great hopes for it.
Yes there are some poor D3 mechanics that they already put in a game but still D3 was OK for me. Not the best but certanly not the worst.

I got to thinking about this earlier today at work. I couldn’t agree more.
The trailers we had where the boss would be eating a player and spitting out the other half was amazing. Then we found out it was all scripted and the game was nothing like the trailers missing most of the mechanical nature of the trailer.
And then we get to the world design. How they had to defend it on the forums for not being the same design as D2’s procedurally generated world.
It would be like Re-Logic making Terraria 2 without randomized maps, half the mechanics and half the itemization but throwing together a trailer that looks like it promises all of the features and more.
That’s what D3 did and one of the biggest reasons people hate it.

I mean D2 and D4 aren’t very similar games, besides sharing some classes and skills (in a thematic not a mechanical sense, they play very different from D2) in an ARPG format. Pretty much everything else is different.

This is a well-written explanation of why I like D2 better than D4. I’ll still play D4 because I want the story. I’ve only played the Server Slam, but the obvious lack of characters supporting my playstyle (physical ranged) means I probably won’t replay with a different class. And before you say something about the Rogue, even getting through Den Mother required far too much melee combat - there is NO way to do enough damage with a bow. You should note I only put points into ranged damage and the “best” builds ALL revolve around the Rogue as a melee class.
Old school Diablo 1 and 2 player here, and a handful of my close gaming friends are in the same boat. All of us are excited for D4.
There are some decisions I don’t agree with, but after playing the beta, it’s clear, D4 is a great game.

actually it does.
as it bring bots everywhere.
bot in public game , bots in lobby , bots in baal run , bots in diablo runs , bots in cow run ,
i even got bots that joined in my in own room sometime just visiting to kill bosses and spam about their RMT website.
how fun is it if 90% of the playerbase is bots ?
how fun is it if you get spammed with RMT website advertisement everytime you play unless you play solo or in a locked game ?
also it severely devalue your grind : you play for hour to get a thing while someone can spend 20 cents to get one.
it does quiet a bit lessen your joy and effort of doing it.
it’s not about being jealous or anything but in a grind and farming game the goal is to actually play to get items.
and the devs understood that as they said in recent interview that the best loot should be found by the player , not from trade etc…
hence why legendary and unique will be untradeable and at the very least people will have to farm for them.
also, i wouldn’t be sure as for ancestral rare being BIS.
-For one , there is not certainty they will be tradeable compared to regular rares
-then there is no certainty that the affixe range won’t be lower than for unique or legendary at higher level and once ancestral (like for example 50-100 vitality or 100-150 )
-also unique effect won’t be transferable so those will still be BIS as long as their effect are needed.
-and if bots gets everywhere simply due to gold and rare being tradeable, the devs might make them untradeable so that the game don’t become a bot town like D2R.

Like are you angry that other people watch it? I’m honestly curious, cuz I see people react this way to Asmond a lot. Whenever I take a peak at his videos he seems pretty harmless to me.
if you know how messy the layout of Diablo maps are…D4 lacking overlay minimap is a huge downgrade.
also Diablo w/o Dekard…is it even Diablo? (i will always stand by killing him off in D3 was the WORST thing they ever did)

trading in game long before 3rd party sites existed was fine. You could make any build you wanted if you farmed enough gems.
also most ppl who play Diablo 2 don’t play on official servers.
Its all modded Diablo 2 that has ppl playing it for so long becasue its effectively a different game w/ em.

- D3 has been dead for yrs.
- D2R just isnt same as D2 (my personal view)
- Dev’s have ruined OW. (tbh what they knowingly did to players should be illegal)
- Dev’s scorned me too long in WoW (1 xpac thats them listening doesnt undo the multiple they shaft us)
- SC is a dead IP atm.
- they quit supporting HOTS. (not the best but it had some fun modes & their skins were actually very nice)
Diablo 4 is literally my last hope for Blizzard to remain on my PC.
If they drop ball the company is just dead to me at that point as I can’t support a company who ruins everything they touch anymore.
idk…1.0 D3 was pretty awful…loot was useless, mobs killing you off screen, etc etc.
The answer to topic is actually simple.
Diablo & D2 were Iconic games that defined a genre.
One of the few games you could literally sink yrs into.
