Do you think a Sub-Class system would fit into Diablo?

Thinking about this…
Rogues if focusing Melee - Assassins
Rogues if focusing Ranged - Demon Hunters

Unfortunatelly can not figure out how this could be applied to other classes, with Rogues could work…

I think it would be cool if they added something like POE’s subclassing system.

I like subclasses in other games, but here we are already so starved for skill options and skill slots you pretty much have to specialize every build anyway.

If they were going to add sub class specializations there would need to be a skill overhaul.

I love sub-classes in CRPGs.
But there is not much need here.
Vastly increase the skill trees instead. Better yet, give each skill its own skill tree.
Our builds already are the specialization. Sub-classes mostly make sense in games that have mostly static classes/low amount of choice, where the sub-class becomes the choice.
Not really needed for an A-RPG.

There is also a substantial risk that sub-classes would pigeonhole classes even further, making it hard to create hybrids outside of the predesigned sub-classes.
Kinda like sets did in D3.
