Damage reductions already exist; I’ve reached 99.9 DR and I die in one shot, it literally doesn’t work
you could also check out endurant faith.

but yea, there are many tools that cant reduce damage spikes. Some people just tend to not use them.
not sure how an additional affix is supposed to change that. Some people just like to go full glass cannon, and then complain about being “one shot”
Yeah, having Endurant faith be necessary for every build is not a solution. Plus, I’ve noticed it not that great after pit 135. 135+ Endurant doesn’t seem to help much. Even with infinite flame shield. The damage is too high.
oh it absolutely isnt, especially not in every situatuion. I only use it as a charm for when i know i might face big burst damage. Currently thats mostly when i fight mephisto ^^.
There are many other items tho too, but at the end of the day it all leads back to he balance of “dmg you deal vs dmg you neglect”.
something many people underestimate btw is max health really.
Soloing T12 Meph isn’t a problem for me.
it’s more like, I’m walking around or randomly getting blown up before or after I’m in combat and my shield isn’t reset.
for example I’ll tank a Pit 135 boss but a random dungeon explosion is one shot if I happen to get blown up randomly.

i must admit, im still not totally knowledgable on all the new elite afixes really. Sometimes i also happen to run into something where i can barely make it lol

I’ll solo Meph or pit 135 boss, but some random dungeon spider might blow me away as Sorc. We need shields on 100% of the time.
current survival method is 46+ resolve stack and Glenn’s Anvil aspect, makes all damage do almost nothing. as it reduces all damage around 95-99% (excludes thing that bypass and 1shots)
Sorc doesn’t get that. I’ve tried 36 resolve. No luck.
I have 43k of life as Sorc, 43 k shield 35% dmg reduction and always above a million toughness yet I get one shoted or blown all the time pit 115 and above.
This is really hard time for sorc to survive, we dont have the Resolve stacks mecanic.
Sounds like a you problem tbh. Sorc is one of the tankiest classes and do 150’s.

Asking diablo4 to not kill you, its like turning Sanctuary into a daycare center.
Dying is part of the process of learning.
The problem with “difficulty” in this game is you don’t learn anything from it. When people compare it to soulslike..no. soulslike games make mechanics into an art form. Diablo 4 “mechanics” are durrrr 1 shot durrrr!!! 1 shot out of nowhere ddddduuhhhh duuurrrrrrr!!!
There’s never a feeling of “Well next time I should have..” Or “I should not have…” You’re just randomly insta dead. After perhaps not taking damage for days worth of playing. It’s completly braindead and lazy design. Remedied by using specific items that make you immortal. Absolute dunce cappery. Don the dunce cap. Become the dunce.
Why does every boss fight use some incredible lame 1 shot mechanic? Takes all the enjoyability away from hardcore bc there is no skill its just a dumb 1shot out of nowhere

Willingly playing hardcore in this game is like willingly dropping a hammer on your foot. I’ve accidentally dropped a hammer on my foot. I’ll tell ya I would never do that willingly. I’d get the same joy as playing Diablo 4 hardcore.
“One of” yeah I can do Pit 140 my bro, but a random spider in he’ll tide can 1 shot me.
Sorc is only tanks when fighting a huge group for ice armor resets.
