Okay, so this post is aimed directly at our forum community managers. I’m going to do this as respectfully as I can. When I opened a support ticket with GameMasters to report my thoughts on the lack of communication, they referred me here. I wish there was a way to submit these kind of posts quietly in game, but since there isn’t, here I am. I’m sure I’m probably wasting my time by posting this, but here goes. Quietly disabling a feature as crucial as DLSS3 with no heads up, no explanation, not even a lousy mention in the battle.net is not a cool move. And I’m referring to the part about not giving us a heads up, not about the actual disabling of DLSS. I found out the hard way it’s disabled when all of a sudden the game was much choppier than I expected and I thought initially something was up with my hardware. We shouldn’t have to be forced to go in and troubleshoot like that, thinking something is wrong with our own hardware. Thankfully, I have a 4090 and I was able to make some tweaks, disable ray tracing and work around it, but others who don’t have the kind of raw hardware that I do definitely are going to have to do more tweaking than I did. I get that things happen and disabling features is necessary for troubleshooting. It’s not about the (hopefully temporary) loss of DLSS itself. It’s the lack of communication. A lot of us are speculating if DLSS and Frame Generation are even going to return. We shouldn’t have to speculate. Blizzard should be HONEST with us and let us know one way or another or even let us know if they don’t know yet. It’s not that hard to explain what’s going on in more detail and keep us updated through the process. A lot of us can handle the tech jargon. Blizzard, the silent majority of us aren’t as stupid as you seem to think we are. Please let us know once and for all what your intentions are for DLSS3 and Frame Generation. Some of us have been customers of yours for 25 years. At least have enough respect to be honest with your most loyal customers. Also for D4 players reading this, I had the best results when I turned on Intel XeSS. I don’t know if that’ll be the same for everyone. I have an Intel CPU. Community forum managers, again, this is aimed squarely at you in addition to the developers. Unlike others here, I recognize that Blizzard is FAR better at supporting their games than most software companies. And unlike some of the other entitled posters I’ve seen, I do very much appreciate the effort to keep up with the massive maintenance that a game like Diablo 4 requires. But the communication with players is absolutely lousy. In regards to the communication, do better. Your customers deserve it. And I think you’d cut down on the number of speculation and complaint posts you have to sift through if you would just take a few minutes to actually keep us updated on unpleasant surprises like these. I have saved a copy of this post on my Notepad. If this gets removed, I’m going to repost it. And if I get banned, so be it. This needs to be said and hopefully others will see this and echo loudly what I say.
