Theyre doing good things about the endgame, just need more of that.
But, the problem with itemization is still there. It’s all wrong with item power, 4 stats on rare items, always having “static” rolls within item power brackets. Multiple versions of the same unique. No real crafting. Generic damage reduction has no place in an ARPG, its very “dumbed down”. Missing drops that arent just equippable items to be excited about, things like runes / special crafting mats / currency that arent gold.
The game is not in a good state still for most veteran ARPG enjoyers.

I wouldn’t go as far as “reigniting hype”, but it did put a glimmer of hope in!
No…games still dead like wth…
Been smashing this game lately and its still empty and dead
I thought witch doctor was…weird. Watching my character use a pea shooter to blow at enemies or a dagger to stab like Im a serial killer or throwing jars of spiders just seemed odd. And don’t even get me started with the chicken. That was just beyond off the wall. But glad there was people who enjoyed that.
Yeah, it is honestly weird how communication platforms seem to only get worse and worse.
And no…
To be fair, all Diablo classes are serial killers.
My hype is hovering between 1-2 out of 10 for season 2. The actual classes are not fun enough and im not seeing enough changes to them. They are very stale overall.
I’m holding out till tomorrows live stream before I get too excited.
Rapidly scrolling junk slinging fiestas that require the community to make google docs to store information with any semblance of permanency is sure an “evolution” of the traditional forum format.
It’s almost as if traditional forums required too much involvement from their users to compete with these new easy-to-access alternatives. Why bother trying to keep up with the thread and stay on topic when you can just bandwagon on Reddit and try to tilt people with that site’s super convenient sub-thread feature. Or even better, why not make your mark felt in Discord by joining the chorus of wanna-be edgelords spamming the same meme 100 times in a row.
It’s kinda funny though how 4chan is like a Sunday church service compared to the edginess of the average Discord server.

People will show up for S2 to try the changes, but if the game will still be boring, they will leave as quickly as they showed up.

So far the changes are good and going in the right direction. Awaiting the stream tomorrow to make sure the 2nd half of information continues that same trend.

I think we’ll know for sure where the hype is if the viewer numbers for tomorrows stream are higher than the first. I think the first was around 15k or so viewers a week ago.
You’ll also likely see a bit of an uptick on reddit, discord, and here starting in the next few days I believe. Something to note btw, on October 4th there was an uptick of 100k views on Twitch.
Because everyone is waiting until tomorrow to see what the real changes are and if it messes up the game even more, or the off chance it fixes things. Specifically, Itemization, Uniques, Vulnerable Damage, Critical Strike Damage, Overpower, Resistances, Class Balancing, Glyphs etc.
Everything else is lip service.
Nope, new season doesn’t interest me, feels like a mobile game now tbh and I’m just surfing the forum to see anything new.
Reason why the number goes up was because elon musk.
Nope.
They just add couples of new bosses, enemies, loots, seasonal equipment slots and call it a new season. You still kill monsters in the regular way in old dungeons or the overworld, like usual. There is no seasonal mechanic/game mode/play style added at all, unlike POE.
I will still try out season 2 because I already bought the game, but I will not give them my money anymore.
They did not fix the game for professionalism or sincerity or guilt or whatever. They fix the game solely for business purposes.
Nothing to discuss yet, we’re waiting on the information that will be provided on Oct 10th. After that we shall play the new stuff on the 17th… and once we experience the new stuff firsthand, we can discuss opinions about it.
Until then it’s all just speculation, which can also be fun, but nothing I thrive on per say.
There is a decent amount of S2 hype. IF Bliz can deliver a solid S2 and QoL and fix nagging issues like loading other ppl stashes then there is hope.

Last week’s stream showed a LOT of progress and I believe reignited some hype for people that left.

People that left? No. People that stayed? Eh, a little. Tomorrow’s Stream is make or break for them in the marketing department. More than likely, Critical Strike Damage and Vuln is getting nerfed which is going to screw over a lot of people. Overpower will likely become Meta with Druid → Necro → Barbarian then being Top. Resistances will help Sorc the most but probably doubly screw over people who just lost a bunch of damage with Vuln and Crit.
We will see.
I’ll continue to watch the forums and keep an eye out for updates. Won’t be playing again till Barb gets a buff to put its damage in line with Rogue, Necro and Druid (I understand sorcs need some love too in this respect)
You underestimate how fickle most casual gamers are. They’ll come and go with more ease than Travis Kelce.
