Well, i wouldn’t be surprised of the announcement was for Diablo: Immortal 2 - whalefarm+ first.
No it’ll be, ‘We’re announcing Diablo 5, but it’ll be free to play, have loot boxes, your cosmetics from D4 will carry over, and you can no longer play D4 due to the game being updated to 5. We’ll be reducing the amount of players in a party to 3 instead of 4. All of your gear will become legacy, all your characters will be reverted back to level 1, and we’ve removed half of the endgame content. Enjoy!’

I cannot wait for them to tell D5 will be a dark and grim dungeon crawler. Back to it’S roots. I expect the exect same lies.

i mean youll buy it anyway, or… as you said, get it purchased for you… ( to then be angry and sad because of… other peoples investment)
eventually its also connected to microsoft releases? i mean, avowed is in the bnet launcher etc…
on wow im not an expert anymore, but they got the worldsoul saga going, which was supposed to be 3 expansions i think, so yea, i doubt itd be a huge reveal there
that being said, i was suprised there is going to be a blizzcon.
eventually they might talk more about d4. id hope so. =D
I thought of this myself and I was wondering :
Maybe they wanna fully remake D4 to D3(not that did not alrdy happened) due to migrating D3 playerbase and make a new D5 something as D4 was promised again.
But I wont be so excited as I was for D4 - and after Beta it was one hell of an excitement 
I definetly wouldn not preorder this time. Roadmap for D5 would be nice, also the direction have to be cemented so current situation would not repeat.
So I would be sceptical, but Im sure cinematic will be awesome I still have chills when I recall Blizzcon D4 announcement cinematic.
Next exp after 09/26 I doubt that very much, that would be 2yrs after first one. Way to long even for Blizz.
New WOW expansion, 3rd Diablo expansion, new Hearthstone expac just to fill the void And IMHO they will for 95% finally announce their new Unannounced Game. They should have something rdy by 2026 already. Disscusion have been since 2022 and they still have some important jobs opened.

if D4 wouldn become much better structured and less buggy - no D5 at all for me. learned my lesson.

I also think exp2 will release before blizzcon 2026 because there is only 1 Q left after it, unless there will be another delay…
Teaser should come in a major event this year.

Id be surprised if it came out before sept. 4th q is the majority of releases from big studios targeting holiday sales.
The xpac is already releasing in 2026.
VoH came out in october, but wasn’t blizzcon in february last year?
Showing stuff in september and releasing in december is a little too short to build up enough hype.
Id hedge a bet that first teaser comes with the release of the road map.
It doesnt really matter. It will sell well regardless.
The one thing blizzard is good at is marketing and people will buy it because it has the diablo name to it.

I have a better question, Why would anyone bother buying into Buzzards Pay To Watch Events Anymore? Prior Blizzcon’s I get it, Afterall back then they were still a quality company

Maybe. First teaser will be 6 sec long anyway - 1 sec blizz icon, 3 sec akarat chirchur, 1 sec whatever color fits the theme so clickbait clowns can make a 10 minutes video based on it, 1 sec showing it’s coming in 2026.

Yep, most wanted titles that could put Blizzard into space again are:
Starcraft 3
Diablo 1 Resurrected, not just remastered, with latest 3D graphics and animations, and tons of improvements. Just thinking about remastered Diablo 1 intro with its crows and window shutter is great.
