If I buy the Diablo IV expansion on Xbox, will it be available for me on other platforms? To my logic, it should work similar to how the different editions worked. I bought the ultimate edition at launch on Xbox, and I was able to use the ultimate edition content on PC when I bought the Standard Edition for PC. It should work similarly with the expansion
If you bought the game twice, you’ll have to buy the Expansion twice.
Common sense seems to elude people often
When I bought the ultimate edition once, I didn’t have to buy it twice to get the content
They clearly didn’t read your question properly lol. It should work as you mentioned as the unlocks are account wide. So yeah you should be able to buy 1x ultimate and 1x standard on another platform and still have access to all ultimate edition content, just like the base game. Might be a good idea to buy ultimate edition first, then standard for the secondary platform, so you get access to everything from the first purchase, but I don’t think it really matters.
You get the expansion pre-order bonus content “for free” on other platforms, because they’re account wide unlocks. This happens even if you don’t purchase the expansion at all on the other platforms.
However, you would expect that certain things will be locked until you do buy at least the base expansion - for example, the new class, new areas, and maybe even beta access on that platform.
I’m talking about the expansion that I just bought. I already have the game on two platforms. Since I bought the expansion through Xbox, and the stuff is account wide, I should in theory have the expansion for PC as well
