We will continually update this article with all patches the development team implements for Diablo IV.
Whoot! Patch notes!
Hoping for a few persistent bug fixes at the very least.
At least the link to the notes works this time.
Another miss on door fix. Wrong choice made again. Doors were a feel bad and now they just dont mean anything. All open. Should have just reduced them by 90% then made ones left mean something like chest behind it or elites or event or butcher or something.
I thought the door complaints were crazy, but they got nothing on the complaints about fixing the door complaints
agreed, such a nonsensical thing to complain about in my opinion. But yea, zoomer generation is being stopped from zooming, this needs to be changed of course lol.
Doors arent even doors now. All open means they are just arches. They could have designed doors as a feel good instead of the feel bad. Now its not a feel good or bad they just dont exist in effect anymore. Missed chance to make them exciting.
This is getting ridiculous.
Why?
57 doors in a dungeon ![]()
All doors made open ![]()
Reduce doors 90% and leave in 10% but make them meaningful. ![]()
What is so hard to understand here?
Doors were not the issue. IT was the number of them that was the issue and them meaning nothing. They still do nothing and mean nothing. They arent even doors anymore.
Designing feel goods are how you win players.
Leaving in some doors but making room behind it mean something is how you design well. Something like a chest, event, elites, butcher, ect.
While I can agree here, the only doors that have been meaningful are the ones that lead to bosses for the most part. I have no doubt you could come up with some mechanics that involve doors, but in general it’s extremely difficult to make doors interesting in any game.
Anybody else bored and wanna stand in the doorway?
IF every door had something behind it then that is the interesting part. You know something is behind there always 100% of the time. That is a feel good instead of a feel bad as they were and now just a neutral feel as they are in essence removed from game.
Not that interesting to me to be honest. It loses its luster after the 2nd door.
So you dont like getting extra elites or chests or events or goblin or anything? Maybe a rare 1 in 1000 bandit shrine could be added or such. List I gave was short but possibilities are huge. Its better than here all doors dont exist now. Time to check out of this thread if I have even lost Iggi on it. Guess my idea sucks to turn doors into feel goods. I thought it was decent but
no like so
.
What they really should have done, was force a door opening load screen with each door like in Resident Evil. Make ya really anticipate the thrill of what is waiting on the other side.
Could just as easily have a room that has that stuff in it as a bonus, don’t need a door for it though. Zaven I think had the right idea when he referenced D1. They’re great as a tool in the beginning, but later on they lose their luster and just aren’t needed.
its urza playing game designer as usual. dont question it.
umm, i think in the patch notes show this, is this fixing what you are concerning about?
- All non-objective doors in Nightmare Dungeons now automatically open.
Question it? Who do you think is paying his kickstarter…
