Its very clear when wud asked the interviewer about competetive and ladders that his entire personality and facial expression changed when the dev responded by saying “they are waiting for feed back and want diablo to be more of a community game” you can watch that part for yourself and like i said its clear as day… community game? This is 100% catered towards there mmo community now

for me that sounds more like: “over time, more players reach the uber grind at Bosses, and are therefore semi forced to group up, because farming them solo is 4 times less efficient.”
as in:
not that players like grouping up, but the way boss summoning and boss loot works, not grouping up is wasting your time.
and as has already been stated: this “cooperative” game is still massivly lacking in social features.

i would say “not yet”, but blizzard is definitely moving towards coop play similar to the successful WoW.
That’s because it’s still fundamentally solo content that you grouped up for. It wasn’t group content. Just the same solo content with more hp that you probably don’t even notice.
A lot of these responses about the game being solo… Is really puzzling for me to grasp.
Let’s first talk about how D2 was drastically the opposite. It NEVER benefited you to farm solo, with each player added, it got harder, but it also increased the loot to be better. The downside in that era was fighting over the dude who had the best ping and picked everything up. But seriously, the pitiful drops from a solo Baal, compared to the quality of loot that dropped with 8 players was night and day.
The thing that I really hate is that no increases to loot probability occurs when there’s more players in the party. So it ends up benefitting us better to Solo, and I really hate that.
That’s the only change that needs to happen and I think group play would blow up like wildfire.
“The denizens of evil have become stronger, and loot quality has increased”.
^^^ it should do this when people join the party, and I bet a lot less soloing will happen

in this day and age FFA looting would probably get a player banned.
You get more drops as more enemies are defeated around you. You get more XP in party.
Blizzard being Blizzard just trying to double down on their mistakes instead of admitting them on time

Hell no, don’t need that magic find crap back. Game needs to stick to being solo focused. They said it would be and now it is a bait and switch. They already have a successful MMO in WoW. Leave Diablo to people who like to play solo or on rare occasions co-op with real world friends.

That’s a good thing. Grouping should never provide in game benefits. The only benefit should be for people that wanted the social experience. You should never get more loot/exp, better loot/exp, or faster loot/exp for grouping.
Do you go to the movies, restaurants, football games, nightclubs, concerts, etc. etc. by yourself or do you go with friends? Human beings are social animals by and large. There are advantages to having friends in nearly everything.
If you actually made some Diablo friends, people who play at a similar level, during the same time frame, who understand teamwork, you would actually have more fun than playing solo. You would level up faster, find better gear faster, and have a more enjoyable experience.
Nobody is making anyone play solo. YOU are CHOOSING to play solo. You have nobody to blame but yourself for not making a little effort to find friends to play with.
Diablo 4 is a work in progress. At launch things were large sparse with only the basic elements. With each season and the coming expansion more and more features have been integrated into the Diablo program.

But yah about a half inch shorter than Raxx.
If that is the case why are they arm twisting people into groups so much?

I used to be very critical of the devs but I’ve tried to give them the benefit of the doubt lately because in the end, I am having fun.
But man, they make it hard.
I can choose to go solo or with friends to all those places. And there are people that go solo. Nobody forces you to be in a group to enter
We dont want the ability to do Dark Citadel in groups to be removed, we want the OPTION to CHOOSE to do it Solo

Do you have more fun when you go to those places with friends or by yourself? I have a very strong suspicion people who play in groups are happier and less angry than solo players. I think it is a smart move by Blizzard to force people into a situation where they might actually make friends.
There will be people who are hardcore solo players who will try the Dark Citadel “one time” and have a positive experience with another player. A friend request will be extended and the two will, reluctantly, start player together occasionally. Occasionally will turn into more and more, they will add a third and forth, and they all will start to enjoy playing in a group. On a much smaller scale they will start to enjoy some of the advantages common to the streamers…
They are bringing a co-op activity with the VoH. Of course, they are going to say that D4 is now a “fundamentally” cooperative game when they have said not so long ago that solo players would be able to do everything the game has to offer. One cannot give any credit to what they are saying because it just changes with the circumstances. No need for the players to be naïve or gullible. They are pushing the game to a new direction. We are OK with that, purchase the Xpac and keep playing or move on to other games.
So Blizz is shafting 85% of their player base knowingly and continuously…actually I can respect that. That said, and with respect, they can go f themselves, the rude arrogant evil bast…ah…jonsnows.
I can guarantee you it would be a bad move if Cinemas, Football Stadiusm etc started to ban solo people from getting in
It doesnt matter if in a different activity, in real life, i have more fun going with FRIENDS than if i go solo
I can also guarantee you that i would rather go solo, than with a group of STRANGERS
