Totally fair comparisons. Personally, as a geriatric millenial with a pretty busy professional life, I tend to get hunkered in to only one or two games at a time and don’t really play the others as much so I don’t know everything about every community and appreciate those insights. I am getting that label from other articles and reviews and media and such.
For me, it’s like the whole point of the game is to satirize those real world issues in a fantasy setting and it kinda doesn’t jive with me that a game based on those ideals somehow creates the opposite in players. Is it possible that it’s more Blizz and Microsoft’s fault for how they approach things? Maybe it’s more like if they actually enforced the rules of the forum and dealt with problem players it might thwart some of the issues? Where as by not addressing it, it ends up encouraging the toxicity?
Why does Diablo get that bad rap even? Is it just a few bad apples perhaps making us all look bad from time to time? Any more thoughts on it?
