This game isn’t made to be difficult or severely punishing. It’s made for casuals that like to show off their cosmetics. The rest of us just play in their world.

It’s a slot machine. It gets your hopes up like a gacha game, and keeps you addicted. There was a study on this where if a mouse taps a button for food pellets and it drops 100% of the time, it gets less addicted than when it gave food pellets 60% of the time or so.

Being able to link Crafted g/a gear would add to that lol

Don’t… don’t you dare… Are you seriously going to hurt my feelings like this?

Just wait until you spend 1 billion gold on tripple GA lege and you brick that shi*

Im waiting for some rags to come to cosmetics, i would buy those , no bling just look poor  A horse that cant sprint, one bad leg i would buy that too,

Honestly… I actually agree with you. I don’t like 100% of the things in the Shop because they make my character look like he got all dolled up before he went to kick some demon butt. Nothing screams hero more than fixing my hair and shinning my shoes before I save the world.

Sad part I haven’t changed cosmetics on my char yet lol, barb rocking a mage hood look from shako

Certainly depends on what you mean by fun.
It is not fun when it happens. But it is a necessary part of the fun of the current loot system.

I do wish that these affixes were simply rolled when the item drops. But right now they are not.
So, yeah, the most fun version of the current tempering system, is one where the limit remains.
The current tempering system just isnt very good overall. Would be even worse without the limit.

Maybe we should serve some cheese with the whine? Yeah; I lost some gear through tempering but I’ve found other gear and it went well. We are only a couple weeks into the season and there is still time to find upgraded gear. Some people want gear to be participation trophies where everyone gets BIS first time, every time.

I wouldn’t necessarily call this high reward/high risk. More like low reward/high risk. With the less desirable stats being so heavily weighted, you have a much higher chance or getting a low reward with high risk. It is quite frustrating.

You see… the issue with people like yourself, is that you have a hard time reading and comprehending. I’m not whining over lost loot… I’m stating that the current system is absolutely not risk / reward, it’s just a time waster and nothing better.

Cope less, read more.

You know. I wouldn’t mind if they allowed us to masterwork right away instead of gating it behind tempering. This way I can master work it up and have a decent item and then if I choose too then I can temper the item. This way I know how the item will behave and have become accustomed to it and can decide whether or not bricking would be such a big deal. Right now you never even get a chance to use the weapon to see if you need the tempering or not… My 2 cents.

Honestly a good idea in the right direction, imo.

Trouble with temper right now is it ruins the excitement of greater affixes. Temper shouldn’t overshadow GA’s and, in turn, shouldn’t be able to “brick” an item.

Good temper mods: resist, proc cc, 10% ultimate cdr etc

Bad temper mods: +100% flat damage to something extremely specific, +50% generic damage mod

It’s step-wise, you’re just wishing to omit the steps.

Step 1 - Get a decent item
Step 2 - Get at least 1 Temper you desire
Step 3 - Use that item
-Repeat- Steps 1 and 2 until you get 2 Tempers you desire
-Repeat for 2x/3x GA items

I don’t even bother Enchanting or Masterwork until I Temper. I do 2x Temper attempts, and if I don’t get a mod I want - I trash it and move on. I’ll get more items. The key is keeping your old gear, and finding potentially better gear to replace it.

You’re far too caught up on having the ultimate perfect gear immediately.

You can use Rogue’s Marksman Temper to get Critical Strike Damage%. Not sure how often your build Crits, but I like it far better than Distant/Close Damage. If you’re using Grandfather, I think that’s a no-brainer, too.

But… you gotta have a Rogue.

Distance is ok but only for Dust Devil, it the only ranged attack Barb has. I dont grind ubers enough to get the Uber Uniques. I got starless and melt heart in about 20 runs.
