Expedition to the Barrier Peaks could have been a fail. Instead it was an awesome twist, Lots of folks enjoy Spelljammer too.
All of which is to say that SciFi has crossed over successfully to Fantasy gaming before and can do so again, if well executed.
I blame Bioware for this. Ever since SWTOR released Blizzard has felt the need to add companions to their games starting with D3.
D2 had mercs… kind of confused by this statement honestly.
Were mercs mechanical drones with different chipsets to swap out? No? They were actually human mercenaries for hire that also worse armor and used weaponry?

Bit dramatic but I must admit a ‘Robot’ companion wasn’t something I had even considered.
There’s a little button on the bottom right of a post that reads, “Reply” – if you use it, you can actually reply to them.
Oof, so there’s a funny thing that happens with these forums when you hit the reply button to another reply. It doesn’t always show the person you’re replying to in your actual reply. As someone with nearly 2k posts you of all people should know this.
