Diablo 4 is literaly quantity over quality in every aspect possible and i hate it

I don’t like this approach at the game that we kinda have. No matter about what system, mechanic, map you look it is allways the same approach. Quantity over quality.

Loot: What would you estimate how many trash items you get before you get a decent drop. (GA-drop). So if i count blue, white, yellow, non GA into it i would say something about 100 to 1. Let me be clear, i am not saying there should be more GAs. I just want less stuff that has NO PURPOSE whatsoever. There is even quest rewads in blue and yellow…

*STOP DROWNING US IN :poop: ITEMS!

Mats: Why do we have a bazillion different Mats. Can’t we just have a reasonable system with like 2 or 3 currency. Gold for basic stuff like Potions, repairs, vendors and Obols for (Mastercrafting, Glyphs, Etc)

*STOP DROWNING US IN MATS DIVERSITY!

Enemies: Screen is just filled with mobs. I know there are some people actualy liking that but me not. I much more enjoy a “clean” experience. Gameplay where i can See the enemy, see all the nice animations, see the Blood, the Gore and where i can clearly see enemy Attacks and the need to dodge them. ATM as soon as you hit engame all i do is basicly Hold a button and kill bazillion trash mobs and ocassionaly i make a side step if i see something “suspicios” beyound me which is not that easy with the neon storm on screen.

!STOP DROWNING THE SCREEN WITH TRIVIALIZED MOBS!

Large Numbers: Aside from the fact D4 is a balancing nightmare here is a start to fix it. Stop going into Quadrillions, don’T even go into Billions, not even Millions, not even hundred thousands. Keep it on a span between 1000-10000 for Dmg in general. If a char does 10 DPS on lv 1 and 10.000 on max lv with all BIS there is still a difference of 1000 times. That is enough by far. There literaly is no reasonable argument to have astronomicle numbers.

!STOP DROWNING US WITH ASTRONOMICAL NUMBERS!

Open World: Wait what you might think now. The open world is quantity over quality?
Yes ofc it is. See there is no natural “Progression” on the map. You have a large and beatiful Open World but it has no highlights. No matter where you go, difficulty and loot allways stays the same. There are no “Special” places with harder mobs and better Loot. It’s just a giant landscape of nothingness. You want challenge go into a tiny corridor dungeon.

!STOP DROWNING US WITH AN EMPTY OPEN WORLD OF NOTHINGNESS!

Pointless bloated Stats: So many systems with so many lv ups with small %upgrades that in sum overbloat player power but individualy suuck. When i reach a “upgrade” via XP, Gylph, Mastercrafting i want to feel the impact and at the same time it should not “bloat” the dmg numbers. ATM all Glypgs, Paragon, Mastercrafting do is throwing more %DMG into the %DMG bucket which brings zero variety to gameplay and just bloats the DMG overall.

!STOP DROWNING US WITH BAZILLION SMALL INCREMENT UPGRADES!

Meh, I’m fine with the way things are. I’m more about the Stability of the game over anything else.

I can’t wait for POE (or what ever) that’s coming out in Mid November. Hopefully some people here can be happier over There.

They moved the date to Dec 6th

Really? Why? NO no… I’m not being facetious or sarcastic or anything. What happened?

I obviously favor D 4 over anything but I do believe there is nothing wrong with playing multiple games!

I dont pay too much attention to it but it was something to do with their backend not functioning correctly. They are making it so anyone in PoE1 that purchased skins and stash tabs and such would have them in PoE2 as well and that wasnt working. Something like that anyways. So they pushed the date back 3 weeks.

Oh… well I hope they get everything straight in time. A lot of people is looking forward to it I’m sure.

That’s why its called Vessel of Hatred, Lord of Hell himself brings frustration and despair, its amazing how ppl often forgot about what this game is all about

PoE 2 is delayed to 6th december

Except for the fact that i don’t even see quantity here…

OP,

I agree on items. Whoever is making those decisions seems clearly out of touch. No reason why in torment levels we should ever see a blue or yellow.

I think they are doing better on Mats. Look at when the game was released and there were more. I think removing them all or condensing can be done but it may be a harder core than just wave the magic wand.

I don’t agree on turning down mob density. I’d rather have to much than too little. I think in this area they do fine.

Numbers, numbers numbers… you know you can turn damage numbers off? Is just a white jumble of crud on the screen. Turn it in, see where you at now and then, then turn it back off. If you’re killing things so easily do you need a number to help you out?

The open world nothingness is interesting. It used to be areas had higher level challenges, now every things tuned to the difficulty. Either way doesn’t bother me. This seems a petty gripe. Harder content move up a tier.

The last one is what you get when players start demanding more. We want this, we want that. Okay now we have it and we complain it’s too much. At some point we just have to play the game as presented. They can’t please everyone.

I agree with all of it.

The loot is dull to hunt for. This is mostly because you look for the same thing over and over, just with bigger numbers on it. It all looks the same cause you transmog it. It all sounds the same cause you imprint it. So really it’s just item power and stars

Mobs and gameplay is too messy. I have played every season (this one only to level 18, but most of the others to max level) and I still don’t really know what things look like, what attacks they perform, how they animate when they die etc. It’s all too fast and flashy and messy so none of it matters

All the stat numbers are silly. I haven’t had damage numbers for most of my time in the game. Season 2 maybe. But the screen clutter isn’t the only issue. Smaller numbers are just nicer. It’s easier to see the impact of gear changes and upgrades because it’s how our brains work. It’s why we have units. Nobody tells you the time in milliseconds because it would be stupid. Cut the inflation and reduce this garbage

The open world coupled with mob scaling is nasty and lazy. You don’t have to work towards anything cause it’s all available all at once and it’s all the same. We don’t have to redo the campaign each difficult so at least drop the mob scaling to give some flavour to the map. I don’t think I’ve been north of cerrigar since the campaign…

See point is. There are many different mobs in the game and they all have different mechanics. But do you even see or understand them? No, cause you don’t even have to.

See this

That is why D3 inferno was the best from a Gameplay PoV. Sooner or later i knew every single Mob and what they can do and what not. There have been so many interesting mechanics in D3 inferno.

Just from the first Act…

Goblins inside of Trees that die in a Poisenous field (Extremly deadly)
Lightning moth hidding at bushes (Extremly deadly if a mage or so walks just by)
Charging beats in the open field. A Rare mob of these easaly one shots you with the charge.
Cultists that are squishy and easy to kill transform themself after a delay into a much stronger and deadlier abomination.

Most of these mechanics exist in D4 as well but unlike Inferno mode where it was absolutly necessary to deal properly with those odds in D4 you can basicly ignore everything.

THIS is a game about demons and Monsters with lots of blood and gore. Not candy crush.

Yes absolutly. The thing however is, i do not have time for multiply ARPG looter. I can play 2-3 hours a day which is already a lot for someone with kids and other obligations.

ATM there literaly is only D4 for me. Next year however, there is D4, Titan quest 2 and PoE2. And i will most likely only stay in 1 of those.

You realize it is early access, right? It wont have all the classes and will only be a portion of the game. People will start complaining right away due to the bugs and lack of content because they dont understand this.

Kinda like D4 release last year…

Ah, you mean PoE, because at first I thought about D4 while reading this…

Blizzard has been watching the competition…games like PoE also have a ton of mats as well

I agree with some of your points…but I always come back to this.

Itemisation is still not in a good and place trust me they know……we all know… i bet my left :chestnut: they have a team that’s working out loot 3.0 right this very minute

Fix itemisation and a lot of these problems go away

The ONLY Reason why I can’t wait for it to come out is so people can

A). Have something else to play and not BE HERE on this FORUM all the time.

B). Them to complain Over on Their forums.

Just like Diablo 4 and its current state
Man I’m jealous of people with low standards, must be an easy life never looking up

What do standards have to do with early access?

what would you do then? Isn’T that kinda your thing? to interact with the complainers here in the Forum. I mean honestly you haven’t said anything about the topic, you are basicly the only one here kinda offtopic the whole time.
