I can’t find this issue anywhere online. I’m playing diablo 4 on legion 7i 4090 and when I’m moving around I occasionally see these very faint horizontal bands across my screen that appear to be shadow related. Like a third of my screen will have around 5 horizontal bands where the image is darker at the top of the bands than at the bottom. I can only capture it with my phone - see the last few frames of this video: IMG_0419 - what is this?
Honestly hard to make out given the extremely small clip time. OBS is free by the way and has a recording option you can use. While most people use it for streaming it’s perfect for recording small things such as this.
When I try to screen capture it - it doesn’t appear. In the video just look in the middle left of the screen you’ll see horizontal bars appear
Screen tearing, have you tried turning v-sync on? Or off in case it’s on. If you’re unaware screen tearing occurs because there’s a mismatch of the frames coming from your graphics card and the refresh rate of your monitor.
In most cases your monitor can’t keep up with your graphics card. So the screen tears like that’s. Enabling vsync makes sure that your graphics card syncs up with the refresh rate of your monitor, to help prevent tearing.
I tried with vsync on and off with no luck. Video capture does show the issue - here it is in the upper left side of the screen: Diablo IV 2025-01-12 19-01-04
You mean the implied lines of the terrain on the ground? Is the option for ‘Distortion’ check marked in your Graphics settings by chance? Aside from that you’d have to tweak your settings one by one constantly changing a value, then checking to see if it helps any.
I fixed it just now by turning off NVIDIA DLSS resolution scaling - hopefully won’t affect performance?
If anything it will improve performance with it off.
